Historians tend to be more objective and nonpartisan than the public. Almost 100 historians rated 43 former presidents on various qualities. Leadership, economic management, equal justice, moral authority, administrative skills, international relations, public persuasion, relations with congress and performance within context of the times.

Many already consider Trump to be the worst President of all time, after 4 weeks in office
President Trump could balance the budget, eliminate unemployment, solve the drub problem, take 90% of the lower class into the middle class, bring racial harmony, and negotiate peace in the middle east, and those same people would still whine that he is a bad President.
As for Mr Obama ... usually history tells a fairly accurate story as to the successes and failures of a Presidents term. 4 weeks is not enough time to qualify as "history"
bigreds daddy

This is so true. I've been saying it since election day.
These are the same people who were CRYING after coming to the realization that the Hildabeest didn't win.

Historians tend to be more objective and less partisan than the public is laughable. That's kind of like saying the Houston rockets play great defense because they play better defense than those in the NBA all star game. These surveys r done routinely and the fact that certain presidents have had significant changes (i.e. Jackson, Eisenhower) even after significant time since their tenure, can only be explained by political correctness, bias, etc. Reagan has made similar strides because of the rights love for him but nobody seems to remember Iran contra or the savings in loan crisis. Ranking Kennedy as high when there for only 3 yrs seems questionable and obamas ranking is clearly directly related to these historians like for him and his policies. While Clinton was certainly 1 of the luckiest presidents in that he had very few crises in which to deal, to suggest obama was more effective as a president seems ridiculous.

The public should be more biased and subjective than historians because of personal involvements. Objective historians study and research the past to seek the truth which the public might not care about. Historians examine evidences with reservations and weigh authenticity. The survey did include asking historians to rate performance within context of the times.
