Public sector workers are taking all they can, CEO's of the bigs are taking all they can, unions r taking all they can, shareholders are taking all they can, politicians are taking all they can. Everything is rife with greed. Many want the reward without taking the financial risk. I believe 80% of ppl are employed by small biz who aren't traded on any exchange. Somebody had the courage to strike out on their own and tried to better themselves by their own merit. Along te way some fail and others prosper and hire employees. These employees help grow the company and any good owner knows this and rewards them as such. Also along the way the person who took the risk benefits the most. Why is this a problem? It isn't.

Yep, I agree. They didn't negotiate alone- that's a great point. But isn't it time we look at what was negotiated and take a look at whether it's a good deal for all or are we heading toward too many future liabilities that we cant cover? Also do you think i enjoy having to pay more money for services that are needed for the society we live in? Of course not, but iam smart enough to know, that we cant do away with these things like some of you nuts want to happen. It just cant happen. Its a shame that we all have to pay more, because there isnt more people paying into the pool like us. Its ashame more and more people have to rely on social programs to get by now. But the root of the problem is pure greed on the part of the corporations. These people just cant make enough money to make them happy. If they make a billion in profits they want 2 billion. The problem isnt unions, regulations and taxes {which we all know that most of the fortune 500 companies endup paying either zero taxes or next to nothing} Read an article that said yes, we do have a high corporate tax rate, but after all the tricks the companies use, they are paying some of the lowest rates in the last 50 years. Chief of police in Stockton CA. Now one of the most dangerous cities in the nation makes $180,000/year. That is over 14k per month. The taxpayers pay his salary. You could hire 4 officers for that kind of jingle and they'd have a good life.

Cd There are jobs. I am trying to fill 3 positions right now (pay is $25/27 hr) but I can't find anyone with the skill sets. Also, if you kept up on manufacturing which is the backbone of any industrialized economy you would know that many of these jobs ARE coming back to this country right now.

Haven't met joe the plumber but I have met Larry the union lackey and many other union folk from many industries I have no use for laziness and not pulling ones own weight. The union doesn't reward based on job performance and it has seeped into their members brains to do as little as us required. This is the norm. I also know a few good union guys - they are few and far between and even they bitch about their coworkers. It's a fucking joke
