Maria Butina accused of trying to influence the Republican Party at Russia’s behest

Just hours after President Trump’s press conference with Vladimir Putin, the Justice Department announced the arrest of a Russian national —  — for secretly trying to influence US politics at Russia’s behest.

The Butina case is not part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe — she was investigated by the FBI’s Washington field office and will be prosecuted by the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia. Butina was arrested on Sunday (before Trump and Putin met).

The connections between Butina and the NRA are no secret — indeed, she’s been known and lauded in conservative activist circles . Back in 2014,  as “the woman working with the NRA and fighting for gun rights in Russia.”

There is no "gun rights" in Russia

According to prosecutors,   Maria Butina reported that a Kremlin official had given approval for the back channel she was building, and she told the American: “All we needed is ‘yes’ from Putin’s side. The rest is easier.”

According to Kermit, its not easy being green

He has no point or any brains. He just likes coming into threads being stupid & adding nothing to the discussion.

He's a gutless POS

I once asked Kermit what Pork tasted like and he said, "Fish." Strange guy. I'll stick to hanging with Animal and Rolf. Gonzo's cool too but he always runs through all the bugle.

Fake news ...maga

According to fact checker Snopes, FBI has evidence of money flowing from Russia to National rifle association.  This is also confirmed by Justice department, Federal election commission and Spain.  Illegal to use foreign money to influence federal elections.  US weakness would encourage more russian cyberattacks, propaganda misinformation, money laundering and covert operations.

Russia "cut it out"..............

According to US intelligence, key members of Putin circle (Rogozin, Rudov, Torshn) met NRA officials.  Multiple indictments from Mueller investigations.  In the past, Trump and associates have extensive business ties with russians.
