If those that post here were a representive sample of the United States, we would have segregation, the poor would be rounded up and shot, liberals would be forced to wear an L on their shirts, we would have deported every muslim in the country, and Afghan and Iraq would no longer exist because we would have nuked them already.
DJ, your talking this way to serious. I just wanted to get an idea of how many on this site are for or against the health bill. It seems like your mad because more people are aginst it and dont agree with you.
Your vote will count here, so place the vote. It seems like the only people on this site that really want this bill to pass, all live outside of the U.S.A.
Round up your liberal buddies on the site and have them vote.
This has nothing to do with the poor or any of this other garbage you just posted. It has to do with me seeing what my fellow gambler wants, nut i guess people heres vote dont count because it goes against yours.

Cd - it's the way of the world today. 3-5% of the pop is gay, all we hear about is gay marriage. Most people work for a living and get health insurance on their job. The dems actually expect us to believe this healthcare reform is for "the people". Yeah, sure it is. There's 13 new taxes that will be implemented immediately, the benefits don't start until 2014. Isn't that taxation without representation? The people want jobs and to stop being bullshitted by the government about climate change. The next scam to begin after this healthcare b.s.

The democrats are using bigtime trickery. But not having the bill not kick in for 5 years, what they are doing is having 10 years worth of taxes to pay for 5 years worth of service. All the years after the first 10, this bills cost will explode.
By the way did you cast your votes in the thread, please do so

The passage of this bill would arguably be the worst thing too ever happen to this country, possibly second only to the election of schmuckbama. Health care is a right.....you have the right to care for your own health. This country has become far too entitled, whereby people feel they are owed by society. Obesity is an accepted excuse to sit around and collect welfare.
I vote no and obviously no.
The liberals need to put on their big boy pants. The amount of criticism that obama is getting at this point is tame compared to what GW was getting last year. DJ apparently has a short memory. A lot of people are afraid to criticize the performance of a black president or any black person for that matter. There were some serious slights in the past, but tolerating sub par performance in the name of political correctness or fear does not improve results. This president is arrogant, self entitled, anti-American, insidious, and really not that bright.

I would like to say that I am in no way for any of those policies.
I do however think that DJ may have lost his mind.
But rick you seem to be in a VERY small group of right wingers on this board who are rational. The others are out to lunch or stuck in the 19th century. There are plenty of examples from this forum to support what dj said don't kid yourself.
dj is right, if you can't see it it's denial.

But to give up almost 20% of our GDP to the govt, who has proved again and again that they cant even run their own lives. I must be bat shit crazy because I do not believe it.

This has turned into a solid rout. Iam really not shocked by the outcome, because the truth is your average everyday person who has a job, even if they are struggling dont want this bill. The only people that truly want this bill are the politicians, who get to reward all their family and friends with some sweet paying govt jobs running the health care system and the people who dont want to earn their own healthcare and believe other people should pay for it for them. Oh and lest not forgot about all the lawyer jobs that will be created should this bill pass Every healthcare dept will have their own team of lawyers.
The Amercian people are going to get the wrost screw job they have ever had in this country, if this bill passes.

Exactly, the everyday person that's worked their way up doing anything should have healthcare coverage, either employee paid fully or mostly. They're hitting us over the head again. I have 2 benefits on my job (paid healthcare + vacation time) nothing else. Here comes the gov to dick with 1 of them. I work for that benefit, others can too. Where's it say your supposed to give it to people, this is to buy more votes from the "poor public" (like they don't already own them). Hopefully if this passes, in Nov of 2010 we'll get dump it.

1. I wouldn't use the word "right", but I think a smart, advanced society strives to given everyone access to health care.
2. Depends what passes. Unfortunately legislation always becomes such a horse trading mess. The current system is broken badly and needs to be overhauled.

everyone does have access to healthcare...however government should not and cannot be the provider b/c government can only provide what they have first taken from someone else
agreed it needs overhauling but government isnt the answer

The votes here in this thread show that the average working man is happy with the current system, so its really the politicians and the people who dont have insurance who arent happy with the system. Truth is if the people who dont have insurance actually got up off their asses and went out and got a job, they would have insurance and probably be happy with it, but instead they want to sit around and wait for the govt to hand it to them for doing nothing at all.
Like i said even this small sample of votes shows that people dont want this shit and are happy with the ways things are.

You realize the million reasons why this forum is not a representtaive sample of the American public right?
I will conceed that the public is equally divided on the current health care reform, although a very high number agree that it needs to be reformed. The question I think people have is whether this is the best plan.
But to suggest that people are "happy with the current system" is just plain wrong.

Everyone does not have access to health care. If you can't get insurance or can't afford to pay the exorbitant costs then you don't have access. Let me rephrase -- everyone should have access to healthcare, including those who cannot afford to pay full fare.
Some form of government intervention to give everyone that access is appropriate.

I don't disagree with what you say, but what needs overhauled worse than the current insurance system is our Government. I don't think something as fouled up as our government should take something else over that is all fouled up. Until the corruption stops, the USA's number 1 problem lies in Washington D.C..

I have yet to run into one person who has medical insurance who wants the govt running it. I would bet if you asked everybody on this site the same question it will be tough to find anybody who has insurance, wanting the govt to take it over. You can keep ranting away how the system needs fixing, but there are way more millions of people out there who are happy with what they have got, then the total amount of people who dont have insurance. Politicians and the people who dont have insurance are the only ones who want this crap. Govt just needs to keep their paws off this and instead pass some reforms on the insurance industry to lwer costs. There is no reason not to try these many differnt things first. Oh yeah thats right your a lawyer, so we cant have tort reform, it might hit your pocketbook and your buddies pocketbooks.

heres a thought, how about all those people either get a job that supplies health insurance or else work more jobs to pay for it themselves, instead of waiting for the govt to give it to them. Cant wait to see all the illegals who will be using the system, that should be fun.

why should govt have to provide healthcare to people? Are all these people who dont have insurance unable to get a job or jobs to pay for it themselves? Theres lots of jobs in our country that provide healthcare to their employees. Maybe all these people should get off their asses and go apply for a job.
Lets make even more people in society lazier

Exception to prove the rule.
As I said, every poll shows that Americans know that the current system is not sustainable. The question that everyone has is whether this bill is the answer.
