Hillary Clinton said that half of Trump's supporters are deplorable and that they're racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. She had no right to say that. She judged and labeled people who she knows nothing about. She went too far. She should be ashamed of herself for saying such awful things about millions of people. I would not stoop so low as to judge and label people who I don't even know. I'm a Trump supporter but I won't label Hillary's supporters.

I won't label Hillary's supporters because I know nothing about them and I don't have the right to judge them. I know nothing about Hillary's supporters but I do know about Hillary. She is prejudice. I wish that labeling and judging those people was the only incident of her bigotry but there have been others. I have a message for Hillary: "Before you judge any other innocent people, you should take a good look at yourself but you'll probably puke when you do".

The best advice I've ever received in 37 years on this Earth was this.   Understand what motivates a human being, and they'll become an open book to you.

When you believe you hold the moral high ground, DISSENT IS AN OUTRAGE.

This applies predominantly to those with a strong liberal identity, but it does also apply to a minority of conservatives. AKA The NeverTrump brigade and a handful of other conservative ideologues.

A truth proven over and over this past week.

I m a nonpartisan independent so I have though long about this issue. Here is my take.

    1) For the record I think that Hillary is correct; however the number is way higher than 50%.

    2) Despite her being correct it was a very politically stupid thing to say and she should know better.

    3) The Trump supporters getting up in arms are jokes. Trump has been making these types of blanket, superlative, ignorant statements from the get go.

What Hillary said is not much different.

Doesn't matter I think the anyone but trump movement started by the right and GOP has now become bipartisan and uniting the nation.

I think that Hillary described half of the trump supporters and in my experince she was correct.  It is not all trump supporters that are like this.  It would be like characterizing all Muslims as the same or grouping all Mexicans as the same or saying all people left/right of center are the same talking about millions of people as one group. So labeling millions of people in such an irresponsible thing to do and yet so ironic that trump supporters are so emotional about it.

I do not think this strategy by Hillary in simply describing a segment of trump supporters do not move the needle at all.  Trump supporters now proudly wear the label of deplorable with it bigotted conotations and Hilary supporters can sit back and watch the emotional trump supporters go crazy over this.

But as someone that is not sold on Hillary, her simply describing a segment of the GOP majority base that voted for trump does not make me want to vote for her nor does it make me want to vote for trump.

According to CNN and American election studies, statistics support Clinton comment that half of Trump supporters express racist sentiment.  Trump campaign is based on prejudice and paranoia.  Standing up to bigotry is something we need more of, not less.

There is some truth to what you wrote, and it's difficult to argue that in general, republicans tend to be more racist than democrats.
Of course, you are only expressing one side of the story.
The entire story is that MANY PEOPLE are racist, regardless of their political affiliation, as the graphs in this link show ...

It's worth pointing out that the graph provided shows white people only.
I contend that people of all races are racist, and my personal experience has been that white people are less racist than black people, but that's a discussion for a different thread

The entire story is that MANY PEOPLE are racist, regardless of their political affiliation, as the graphs in this link show ...

    https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/how-many-of-trumps-supporters-really-are-deplorable/

It's worth pointing out that the graph provided shows white people only.
I contend that people of all races are racist, and my personal experience has been that white people are less racist than black people, but that's a discussion for a different thread

Hilary's comment provided more motivation and red meat for Trump's campaign. 90% of AA's voted for Obama. Certainly, race had nothing to do with it, I'm sure it was because he was so qualified (yeah right). The DNC emails showed who they are... It just happens to be exactly what they accuse the Trump supporters of. I'm glad she keeps running her mouth. The debates should be the end for the most corrupt/dishonest/lying unqualified candidate ever hoisted upon the US population. Is there a line in her passing out at the debates?

    3) The Trump supporters getting up in arms are jokes. Trump has been making these types of blanket, superlative, ignorant statements from the get go.

What Hillary said is not much different.
