the good news is that the democrats are likely to prevail in the long term.  the bad news is the long term seems to be a long way away and they have so much ground to make up.

The party is in good shape, it's the voters that got this wrong... We're supposed to be more tolerant of events like the Boston Mararhon bombing, Orlando and San Bernardino... To double-down on this a former Nation of Islam member is being considered to lead the DNC to show how diverse they need to be. I'm all for his selection. He's perfect for the position. Hopefully LOUIS Farrakan will also be considered for a high position in the party, he's such a tolerant man....

I remember when people thought the Republican party was in bad shape. Back in 2008 and 2012 and most of 2016. These things are cyclical. It's all about voter turnout. The angry side is always more motivated to go out and vote.

i think the republican party is in bad shape in the long term if you look at demographics and voting patterns, but when people say that, i don't think they realize that those years are still pretty far off. 

That's very true that the Republican party was in poor shape and the anger does motivate the other side. The difference is this time a successful non-politician is calling the shots. The Federal government has been run by a bunch of government hacks for a long time. Let's see if Trump and take an America first & common sense method of running the government like a business instead of a charity with unlimitited funds. Agreed the demographics are shifting heavy to the minority side but if they begin to prosper under Trump do you think they'll remain so loyal to the Democrats?
