Falling off the Forbes list will land hard on Trump, who cares deeply about these
sorts of ratings and rankings as public-facing proof of his many successes.
This, from Jonathan Greenberg, a one-time reporter for Forbes,
makes clear how much Trump cares:
"In May 1984, an official from the Trump Organization called to tell me
how rich Donald J. Trump was. I was reporting for the Forbes 400, the
magazine's annual ranking of America's richest people, for the third year.
In the previous edition, we'd valued Trump's holdings at $200 million,
only one-fifth of what he claimed to own in our interviews. This time,
his aide urged me on the phone, I needed to understand just how loaded
Trump really was (allegedly).
"That official was John Barron -
- a name we now know was a FAKE ALIAS of Trump himself."

Former President Trump is urging Republicans not to vote in upcoming elections unless the “fraud” of the 2020 elections is uncovered.
“If we don’t solve the Presidential Election Fraud of 2020 (which we have thoroughly and conclusively documented), Republicans will not be voting in ’22 and ’24,” Trump said in a statement released Wednesday. “It is the single most important thing for Republicans to do.”
Trump’s claims of a “rigged” election also depressed voter turnout during the Georgia Senate runoff elections on January 5. Georgians elected two Democratic senators as a result, giving the party 50 total Senate seats.
Trump has repeatedly claimed, without evidence, that President Biden lost the election due to fraudulent voting practices. While Trump claimed that he won the states of Arizona, Georgia, and Pennsylvania at a rally in Iowa on Saturday, Biden won each of those states.
Efforts by Trump supporters to prove the former president won in various districts have failed, including an election audit in Maricopa County, Ariz., that confirmed Biden’s victory.
“I’m telling you the single biggest issue, as bad as the border is . . . the single biggest issue, the issue that gets the most pull, the most respect, the biggest cheers is talking about the election fraud of the 2020 presidential election,” Trump said during his Iowa rally.
The former president also compared his actions to Hillary Clinton in 2016, saying “Here’s the difference. Hillary [Clinton] conceded. I never conceded. No reason to concede.”

Federal regulators are investigating the Trump SPAC deal for securities fraud
" almost immediately the deal drew scrutiny. Trump began discussing a merger with Digital World long before the blank-check company went public and before such talks were disclosed to investors, The New York Times reported in late October.
Senator Elizabeth Warren called for the SEC to investigate whether any laws were broken by Digital World because the company repeatedly told shareholders that it had not held substantive talks with a target company.
SPACs are not supposed to have merger targets planned before they raise money from the public. "
