this is absolutely amazing. might be hard for most people to fully appreciate how insane this is, but you should be able to get a pretty good idea even not knowing what district court judges do on a regular basis.

this would be like appointing a guy to be chief of surgery at the hospital but he doesn't know what a scalpel is.

At senate hearing, Trump nominees are interviewed for the job of district judge. Basic law questions are asked that any second year law student should know. However they lack essential knowledge to answer a single question. Trump has a bad habit of appointing unqualified nominees without skill, knowledge or experience. As a result, both republican and democrat senators voted against Trump nominees. Even American bar association found several Trump nominees clearly unqualified.

The American Bar Association declared a significant number of Obama’s appointees not qualified. In his 3rd year he exceeded the total number opposed by the group during the 8 year administrations of Bush and Clinton.

There are no formal training requirements needed to be a
federal judge... not even a legal requirement that a federal judge be a lawyer.

In fact we have had more than one Supreme Court Justice who did not graduate from law school....

The Constitution sets forth no specific requirements..so it's not required that the nominee even have a history of litigating a case in court ..

As far as the ABA ...it is known for being a liberal interest group and has a have a long history of giving lower ratings to Republican nominees...

One only needs to show that they will approach cases with fairness..and be approved by the Senate Judiciary Committee to be a federal judge..

7-8% of Obama nominations are rated unqualified by American bar association.  For example, 14 of 185 nominations in 2011.  However Obama made more nominations than previous presidents which may increase chance of unqualified ratings.   Despite few nominations, ABA rates 20% of Trump&#x27;s nominees unqualified.  Historically, Congress respects ABA ratings of nominees.  ABA values trial experience. Doesn&#x27;t matter if nominee is republican or democrat because ideology isn&#x27;t a factor in evaluation.
