When i first heard this, i said to myself newt couldnt even be dumb enough to say such a silly thing, but sure enough he said.
Newt thinks the country should get rid of most child labor laws and one of his big ideas is to get rid of all the janitors in schools and replace them with the kids going to these schools Is Newt smoking crack?  Seriously i dont care what party you belong to, theres no way anybody could possibly agree with such a idiotic idea and if you do, well then your an idiot also.
Newt is the typical kind of guy who believes everybody should make 5 bucks an hour, while he earns a 1000 bucks an hour.  Newt would love to do in this country what the dirtbag corporations already do in other countries and that is use and exploit children to make these corporations products for them.  This coming from the multi millionaire money person who made millions off of fanny mae.
Heres an idea for you Newt, lets get rid of people working in factories and let the junior and senior high kids go there after school and work the afternoon and midnight shifts.
Lets put more working adults out of work by replacing these workers with children, awesome fucking strategy

Our country really is in sad shape, when we continue to let dirtbags like newt gingrich have anything to do with our political system. This guy is a total sleaze bag with a capital S.
Honestly i still havent figured out who is actually the bigger idiot, newt or the people who have kept him in the limelight and would actually vote for him.  My head spins just thinking about this.
If it came down to Obama vs Newt, you really would have to be insane to vote for newt.  This guy would totally put the nail in our coffin, but the corporations would love him, when they could put little 13 year old billy behind the register and pay him 4 bucks an hour to check you out.

Now am not to fond of the people the republicans have given us to vote for, but truth is i could live with any other one being President, besides this fraud dirtbag newt. People like newt really are just pure evil.

Heaven forbid if we put kids in the position to learn what work is all about at an early age...

Hell, I had a paper route from 3rd grade until 8th grade everyday after school... didnt stop me from playing 3 sports...

 

but it DID teach me about handling money, and how hard it is to get my ass out there in the rain and the snow.....

I also worked for a roofing company in the summer of 9th grade...HARDEST job I ever had.  We worked on industrial flat roofs laying hot tar.  You know what it taught me???

 

GO TO COLLEGE because I never wanted to have to bust my ass that hard for the rest of my life...

 

Thats also the point of minimum wage....to make us strive for something better...

In Asia the students rotate duties to serve lunch, daily cleaning of classroom and bathrooms. There is still a janitor and kitchen staff to handle ovens, stoves and maintenance that children should not handle, but less is needed because the students handle the majority of the lighter duties. The effect is lower school costs, teaching kids the skill of housecleaning and habit for cleanliness.......


Kids in Japan have a standard procedure at the end of the day to wipe down the desks, floors, common areas and restrooms.... Each kid is expected to bring a half dozen or so thick wipe towels from home and to rotate them regularly....

Japanese schools still employ janitors to do the heavy duty stuff, including maintenance and repairs. But just having the kids do a little not only fosters an attitude of pride in the schools, but eliminates the need for an army of SEIU workers laundering money for the Democrat machine.....

and for the record, newts idea wasnt kids wiping off their desks, it was keeping one real janitor and letting kids do all the work.

however, i had a paper route when i was 12 and worked two jobs through high school. i did chores for cash around the house before then. i learned that if i bought something myself i would take better care of it...whether it be a hat, a shirt, whatever

making kids be the janitors of their own school is a great way to teach them not to trash it because they sure as hell dont want to clean it

of course, this destroys a public employees union job which comes with lavish benefits and pension which is why cd is really upset

KOAJ, I would have bet a million bucks you would come on here and post crap like this, you need some help if you think having a paper route and being a school janitor are even remotely in the same class. Having a paper route, washing cars and little jobs like that is one thing, but turning kids into school janitors, be friggin real.
Is everything in  your life about getting rid of peoples jobs, so you can pay less money on your taxes?  Heres a thought, maybe these kids can replace your wife at her job after school also, this way people dont have to get hit with 100 dollar an hours fees.

Awesome strategy newt has, lets replace the adult work force with armies of children workers all across the country so we can teach them about working jobs, only to know that they too will be replaced at thieir jobs by other children once they get older, then they c an join their parents on the unemployment line.

instead of being in a sociology class at 15, maybe some kids are better suited to learn how the boiler room works or how to hook up computers in the computer lab...things that janitorial staff would usually do

Yup teach those kids blue collar working skills, so when they turn 18 they can get booted to the unemployment line and replaced with another child.

When are the kids supposed to perform these work duties?  Oh i know they can work the 3-12 midnight shift, then go home do their home work and be in bed by 2 or 3.
They can do this, so they can learn about blue collar jobs, which they wont have once they reach that over the hill age of 18 and get the boot to the curb.
