What I meant by riding his coattails was specifically as it pertains to unemployment and job growth. I was simply saying that job growth had been on a steady incline and umenployment had been on a steady decline under Obama. All facts. I've never contended that he was an effective leader. Personally I think every President in my lifetime has sucked. I agree with Obamacare, in theory, so I applauded him for it but other than that, I can't point to anything that says he was great. So, I never say he was great. As for Trump, the jury is still out. And that's been my stance. He's done some things I agree with and some things I strongly disagree with. Where have I said anything about paying more taxes for people to get out of bed to teach anything to anyone. Yes, I would like to see more African Americans in skilled trades. And while these opportunities are available, they are fewer and further between for African Americans than they are even for other minorities. And this is based predominately on racial stereotypes and stigmas. Most of the people accepting applications for jobs and/or apprenticeships are still white. And i'm an African American with a union card so this is a subject I know about. Black people aren't less intelligent than other races nor are we less driven. We just haven't been afforded the same opportunities. So excuse me if I don't subscribe to the notion that illegals disproportionately affect African Americans because they soak up all of the unskilled labor jobs, which was the thesis of this debate. And again, let us not forget that more poor white people, and asians would fill that vacuum anyway. The people hiring for those jobs are races other than African American as well. And therefore are subject to the same prejudice and stereotypes as the person hiring for IBEW or, for that matter, Goldman Sachs. Even you demostrated some form of prejudice. It seems people can only do the disproportionate math on certain issues. It’s all to put forth an argument that divides us. Do you know who these false narratives hurt more than anyone? Black people. 41.6% is of ALL government assistance programs, not singling out WELFARE as detox stated. Detox though I don't agree with all your thoughts, I honestly think you make some good points at times.
