Here's one I'd like to run by you regarding the shooter since you brought up the potential for a trial... do you prefer the shooter is killed or apprehended alive? The local school shooting that happened near me ended with the kid being taken alive, going through trial and sent across to the state to jail where he actually escaped leaving the town on edge for a short period of time before he was caught again. I even know a few county Sheriffs who said it would have been much better if he did not "make it to trial".
I personally was disgusted by Cruz's defense attorneys statements in front of the Judge and the cameras. Pure scum she is

Not alive. I always cheer when the assailant dies at the scene, primarily so all the people that will be paid for as long as he breathes... Think about the lawyers, court people, prison people, doctors, et al. NO - I don't want them paid for the duration.
As a deterrent, I'd like some special circumstances to fast track him to the needle. Personally, if 5 eye witnesses and video confirm they have the right guy, I think he should be hung within 2 weeks. You want a deterrent, that would help. I know our civilized (to the point of insanity) country would never go for that, but how hard would it be. It's definitely for special circumstances that may've fit into the Boston Marathon, San Bernardino, Ft Hood, Parkland High School, Sandy Hook situations. If the nut in Vegas would've survived it wouldn't apply because there's not 5 eye witnesses. More often than not they die, which is good they get to HELL sooner.
I feel so bad for the survivors of Parkland High after the absolute failure of everyone involved that could've stopped this. And then the deputies on the scene wouldn't go into the school. Unbelievable, and you know they knew who it was.
Sheriff Israel doesn't make it through the week as a Sheriff and a lot of people should be fired and possibly charged for this. You're in law enforcement and you "drop the ball" or "can't connect the dots" and people die, you need to share some of the responsibility. They get paid to protect people - handsomely, benefits, 20 years to retirement, pensions. I'm sorry if you don't do your job you don't get that.
Sorry to go off on a rant, but it causes me great concern that after 911, law enforcement is as incompetent as ever. If they'd dedicated 1% of the time they put into Carter Page, this wouldn't of happened.

I hear ya... giving them more publicity is the worst thing. The kid that shot the school near me somehow was able to get his hands on a marker and wrote "KILLER" on his TShirt under his dress shirt. When he got into the court room he removed the top shirt to reveal it for cameras. He later raised his hand to the parents of the kids he murdered and said "this is the hand I shot your kids with and now I masturbate with your tears". Pure evil scum should have been blasted to shreds.

We can only hope the guards make sure that kid that shot up your school that was so proud of himself made sure he was taken care of 24 hours a day... There's worse things than death and I hope he proves it.
The powers that be are going to have to attack this school problem on many fronts. Until I see the wide open access to schools get secured, I'll believe they're taking it seriously. Does anyone ask why our society is so reactive instead of proactive? Certainly, we live in an open society and it's impossible for us to be protected 24/7. That said after Columbine which is over 20 years ago, what has been done to thwart this kind of attack in a school? Nothing that I can see. Oh, except they make them Gun Free Zones, brilliant idea. The bad guys know the good guys don't have any guns. Every one of those signs should be destroyed tomorrow. Newsflash - Don't tell the killer nobody has a gun except him. Could we at least start with that?

I still did not understand why people are so opposed to Trump tweeting. Even some of the GOP.
I think it is a very effective communication tool for Trump. I rather hear from Trump himself than from fake news media.
Liberals think Trump is goofing off when he tweet or become less presidential. How??? You want to know who is not working in the DC..it is these obstruction Democrats. The following headlines are from breitbart.com Do Dems/Lefties want to protect children at schools or do they want to rescind the 2A? My guess is that they would rather get rid of the 2nd amendment than protect the children in school. Their (The Left) best defense is a sign stating in bold, black letters that This is a Gun Free Zone.

I used to watch Jimmy Kimmel and root for him when he was small-timer but now that he got his own big show, he does nothing but disgust me. No longer humble but a true a$$hole.
