Of course he knows how to be successful. There is hardly any way to dispute this---unless you couch it by saying, 'in politics'.  But he knows how to be successful. The hope would be that he would surround himself with good political advisers to help him get things done. Don't you agree that he would attempt to do this?  The obvious flip side is to compare Hillary and her perceived successes.  

There also has been much made about how deep and youthful the republican field was in comparison to the democratic field.  A much more in depth pool and varied.  Hard to argue this as well. 

It just seems too many democrats hate Trump---so look for reasons to doubt him.  But those same ones LOVE Sanders. 

And republicans hate Trump because he is not a classical party guy. 

People of all ilks are fed up with business as usual---including well-informed folks.

Most people ( you included ) only go for the low hanging fruit. You think the GOP really does have a war on minorities and women.

I'm conservative because I believe in protecting those that can't protect themselves. And because I think the government shouldn't get involved in every aspect of a person's life.

I see the government as little else than a necessary governing body that is rife with ineptitude and waste and thus should be as little as possible.

His past is riddled with dishonesty and questionable dealings from his real estate school to the golf course he was involved with in Ireland (I think it was Ireland) to the most recent humorous article about him openly cheating in his golf game.

Nothing about Trump is on the up and up to me..he takes too many risks and has too many failures to even think he isnt a massive cheater, especially behind closed doors.

For starters, Romney thinks like you do regarding Trump.

He correctly put Obama in his place in the debates regarding Russia and Putin only to have O mock him for saying it. 

Romney inherited a horrible, hot mess with the 2002 Olympic games in Utah and used his charm and wit and turned that hot mess into a very respectable success story.

Our country missed a huge opportunity by not electing Romney. I really wish you would take the time to watch the documentary though.

How is taking risks seen as bad?  That is how businessmen succeed---as do people in most walks of life that reach the elite level. 

Read most pundits.  They saw the field in a much different light than you do.

But it's not like honesty matters to the GOP base to begin with.  They only hear what they want to hear and believe what they are told to believe.  Trump fits that perfectly but it didn't start with trump.

As a non-partisan indepdent I did not vote for Obama twice but it was hard for me to support Romney.  Romney had a born loser type of look to him like Kerry did.  but at this point i would take Romney over trump, McCain/palin tho was a train wreck and a side show only rivaled by trump himself.

I dont draw conclusions based on sour grapes or not liking someone...that may be your position but for sure it is not mine.

I dont think there is a candidate who is squeaky clean, there are few people in high positions in the business world that are squeaky clean..so the obvious easy and uneducated conclusion is Trump falls in line with the usual stereotype, but it goes beyond that.

As I said in specifics that Trump has many public examples of dishonest dealings..it is public. Some of his business interests and decisions are questionable, did you not understand those words I typed? His real estate school, the way he handled the golf course he was building in Ireland.

To me the most obvious and glaring reason is as I stated..he takes a large number of risks, he boasts about it and revels in that fact..and he has failed many many times, his businesses bloat up on debt and they fail..it is a repeated pattern over and over. A risk taker as brazen as he is takes risks we do not see and risks we see..that is his nature as a person. I have no doubt he has been dishonest many many more times that those near to him only can know, but it is quite easy to see based on his outward, public actions and results the kind of person he is.

The public and known examples already fit the description I gave, even ONE public example fits the description I gave, but aside from even one example, the guy for sure is riddled with much much more..based only on his multiple decade repeated risk taking and failure, risk taking, debt filled growth and failure.

Oh and my sour grapes are only this..and I stand by this position for ANY candidate, the difference is Trump is so bad at it I cannot even try to make excuses for him. The guy has a huge mouth and cannot come up with real answers for much of anything. Someone asks him a question of depth and his answers are horrible...the "yeah we will do........." and fill in the blank, he seems completely incapable of a neutral answer which shows his political immaturity. 

I dont want to hear we will "get the bad ones, the really bad ones" (referring to illegal aliens) or "we will big a big wall, a really big wall, I know how to build things". Dont come off as some ignorant know-it-all to appease the mindless followers. I cannot give any real support to someone so clueless that they actually think the public will buy such stupid answers and think there is ANY reality to what he suggests.

John Kasich was the cleanest of all this cycle but he was too boring, had Fred Flintstone mouth.

Political correctness is a huge reason Trump does so well. Too many people are sick and tired of the direction were headed with what we can and cannot do or say to be PC.

I fully recognize Trump for his deficiencies, he has several that stand out. But, with all of these deficiencies he is light years ahead of HRC who thinks that Secret Servicemen standing outside her server room door could protect them from being hacked.

She still is trying to say that it was just a bad idea to use her own server...duh. Not only was it a bad idea, how ridiculous was the expectation that as Secretary of state she would never handle classified or sensitive information. There is an unprecedented level of ignorance with people that support her...And she is the ultimate of flip floppers. I can't believe nobody on the left hammers her for it.

Like I said before though, the sad part is the vast majority of our voters are dullards when it comes to being informed about the true issues the parties stand for. Only a very small percentage do the homework.
