I have said this in many other threads
I have very little respect for 97% of the so called "Top Pro's"
and I can name names when it comes to broke Tournament Pros
Tournament Pro's are NOT top tier Poker Players
I just spent about 6 weeks playing nothing but Tournaments just to try it out, and sometimes I did not feel like I was even playing Poker....all you need to know is Tournament Strategy and get VERY lucky
not alot of skill involved.....these guys get crushed when they are dumb enough to sit in cash games
alot of these guys were just in the right place at the right time (when Moneymaker won and the Poker boom hit, late 2003 early 2004) thats all

I dont mean to hate, but I find it so funny when you see guys on some of these Poker news sites doing interviews talking about $100,000 prop bets when I know for a fact that they are broke.
You basically have a few guys who made millions during the Online Poker Boom and they are staking/backing half the top name pro's into Tournaments/Prop bets/Golf matches/ ect.
It's crazy....but whatever, they dont work for a living and they play Poker/Gamble with other peoples money everyday...
I will admit it must be nice.

I would like to book some of their bets, some big losers betting on sports. Then again if you took Brunson's action he may want to bet 500 K on a game, and he may be a break even bettor but do you want those kind of swings , in the millions? I would love to take Matusow's action though, can you imagine that guy steaming over some bad beats in sports?

Chris Moneymaker was the worse thing to ever happen to my poker game. There use to be decent games with decent players. Now you can't find a game with less than 80% morons getting lucky calling anything and everything. It's bad when you get AA or KK and you automatically feel like your tournament is over because no matter what you raise some moron will call with rags and catch runner runner and suck out 99% of the time. <'(((>< are everywhere. I can't even fk with it anymore why pay for stress? Everyone has 1000's of bad beat stories....but my last hand playing for real money was on Absolute Poker. Playing a 9 man Sit&Go $40, some moron was raising nearly every hand and winning the majority of the hands. 4 people left I was one from the money. I was patiently waiting for a hand so he would double me up like I knew he would. Finally after he stole who knows how many of my blinds AA came. He raised before the flop I flat called, the other 2 players folded. I was first to act the flop came A 3 7. I knew all I had to do was check and he would go all in like he had repeatedly done throughout the tournament. I check and shockingly he went Allin. I guess I should have folded trip A's....I didn't, I called he shows no pair K high w/ a Q. Turn comes J River hits 10 giving him a straight. 90% of the games I play I get my money in with the best hand and would be shocked if I won 30% of those hands. Poker turned into a lottery for morons no skill & no strategy.

I don't get your complaint. More bad players should be a good thing for the good players. You would rather play against a quality opponent rather than a moron?

you want a good mix at your table. Then you better figure out what kind of player each guy is so you can base your decisions on that. At least with good players you have a better idea of where you are at. As for guys that are chasing the longshots, those run in streaks, when you are taking down every pot you play, guys are missing their draws, then it seems like every hand someone rivers a gutshot on you. I know the odds are suppose to even out over time, sometmes it doesn't seem like they do.

chance - if you are playing against a table where everybody calls down everything, then when you flop top pair, by the time the river comes you will be rivered almost every time, by 2 pair, straight, flush. (I am talking about limit) You need players to lay down hands, and good players wll lay down weak hands, bad players tend not to. In a loose limit game you want straights and flushes, top pairs aren't worth as much. I basically play Pockets and hands that I can make a straight or flush with - with both cards. I have been doing better since I adopted that.
