2 hands 1-2 NL yesterday (i got laid off last week figured id try to make a few $ playing this shit. went monday won 150
this was tuesdays story
Early position limp with A9 spades, gets raised to 6 i call along with 2 players. flop Ks5sKd its checked to the raiser who bets 15 i call one other call... turn is 2s FLUSH I lead out and bet 20 it gets called and raiser folds. River is 4c I put my remaining 30 in the pot and get called by a guy WITH POCKET FUCKING 4'S for the full house!!!
Should I have just gone all in for $50 when i made my flush? I dont see how u call that turn bet with 4's but maybe I f'd up and should have bet more
Next debacle. big blind 2,7 hearts. no raises like 4 players in the hand. flop 2,7,10 rainbow. I bet 10 its called by other 3 players. turn was 5 I bet $40 ( i had 65) i get called by 1 player. river is a jack i put my other 25 in the pot woman flips over J10 for 2 pair. Should i have just moved all in on the turn for the $65?
anyway i lost $200 on the day and took my sorry ass home

Poker is bad beat central. You never know if someone is going to call you or not if you move all in faster than holding out after the flop. It's a crazy game, that can drive most people insane.

even the day i won I lost ridiculous hands AKh lost to KQ off when the guy made a straight on me (thankfully he was all in preflop for $30 and I called him)
just once you would thhink the math would hold up in a hand and a 90% favorite would win (the flush hand)

Ist hand - you could have bet more with the flush, but you probably didn't want to with the board paired. The guy with 4's had no business in the pot after the flop, but what can you do?
2nd hand - just bad luck even seeing the flop, as would you call anything with this hand? It was too cheap of a bet on the flop, but this lady did have top pair the whole way, and some people you won't get them off of that. With 2 small pair, if you lose you want to lose the minimum, because by the river you can be couterfeited or just beaten by too many hands. Both hands don't know if you could have done much differently though, just 2 coolers.

First hand ...You made your mistake when you bet out after the spade flush hit, it was obvious that you made your flush when you bet after calling all the way.. When there is a possible Full House on the board, check, I would have check it all the way and just called. If you went all in. KK 44 might have called you, who knows what people will do.
Second hand, bad luck. Having said that, anytime your in the Blind with the worst hand in Hold em. BE CAREFUL.

Agree with don....I would have checked on the turn with the first hand and then would have re-raised all in if the other guy bet (he's not likely to pay you off on the river if you just call his bet on the turn and then try to value bet on the river....he's probably only in the hand if he can beat you unless he's an idiot........by check-raising, you capture a bet from him and make it very unattractive to chase). If he checked behind you on the turn, I would have probably value bet the river and then had to make a decision on a raise (which he certainly would have put in). Pretty tough to lay down the nut flush and I'm guessing I would have paid him off. As it was, you were giving that guy better then 4:1 to call your bet on the turn. Obviously, it was still a bad call by him, but he probably looked at it and said, "$20 to win $85 or so? I'm in." I know the board paired, but the nut flush is a pretty strong hand to be leading out with on the turn even with a paired board IMO.
As for the 2nd hand, I think you can make an argument to move all in on the turn. It would be $65 into a $48 pot, but you were obviously going all the way with the hand anyway. You still could have gotten called so it's no cinch no matter what. Hard to push people off so-so hands in $1/$2.

you guys are tryin to tell him what he did wrong? When if you think bout it those people should not even be in a position to call any bet let alone decent value bets by him.
I think you played the hand well enough but crappy plays by the others paid off for them .

yeah some of these people, there is nothing you can do to get them out of the hand. Meaning, dumb draws, low pocket pairs, and top pair-weak kicker. Then again, don't you want to play with stupid donks like this?

If it is advice you are looking for then here it is.... If you are going to play in early postion your starting hands MUST be premium hands. I mean you have to concider folding ace jack rambow in those spots now and when you are entering a pot from early postion you MUST play them strong no limps always raise because the less guess work you have to do the better. You want 1 player action everytime you are in a pot. I would even recommend going 5-7 dollars higher than the tables normal starting raise. If you follow that advice and play only premium hands in early postion you will definatly get better results because you will be playing against less people because you will be betting your hands strongly preflop....
Blind play must be aggressive because those are your children in the middle. If you have limpers you MUST raise and raise a decent amount with any 2 cards because no one has showen any strength and you should win enough of those raises to make this stragy profitable and if you get played back at you can fold this is key because in your cenerio with the 2,7 a strong raise from you preflop and you may very well have won that pot right there.. Also keep in mind you will probally be folding alot in early postion and you will have a tight image which you will beable to exploit in late postion so those raises you will now be forced to make from the blinds with 7,2 will be nicley disguised..
This is a very boring way to play but given your current working status this is the ONLY way to do it. Goodluck and I hope you find another job ASAP it is getting pretty scary out there now..

I also want to add, above I said you might want to bet 5,7 dollars above normal starting price for hands well you might even have to go 15-20 dollars higher in order to slim the playing field your only job for the first 30 minutes at that table is finding out what that dollar amount will be. This may sound a little crazy but look at it this way . The only thing you don't want to happen is you don't want to go broke so if you are now putting higher bets in preflop if you get played back at after the flop you can fold being certian you are beat and you will live to see another hand.
