Quebec Government Casino putting in Poker Jan 18...

First off, not a Poker player, but have a lot of friends and family that play. On January 18, the Quebec Casinos will be putting in Poker Machines where up to 10 players play against each other. No human dealer...(The Unions are pissed about this..I agree with them) Up to 140 machines will be placed at Lac Leamy. Don't get pissed if I'm wrong about info. Second hand from forums on Poker in Quebec.

Just wondering if anybody on the Poker Covers section has ever played the format and any insights would be helpful. Worried my nephews will be donating hard earned money to sharps. Thanks

If you go to the Loto-quebec site and check out the Casinos section they have more info on the game they will be putting up.
 
It's an 10 seat arrangement for Texas Hold'em that pit each player against each other with no Human dealer: Everything is done by the computers and everyone has their own monitor and system in front of them.
 
Don't know the rake but if it's the Quebec government they will hook people in with a low rake then when they figure out the numbers of degenerates playing jack the prices up. Just guessing.
 
14 of these 10 Texas Hold'em sections at Lac Leamy Casino..don't know the arrangements at the other Quebec Casinos.
 
Last thing...they will be having Poker Tournaments with these set-ups.
 
Anybody on the Covers site play these types of machines???

Haven't played them, but they may get traction.  The poker player from Philly Haverston or something like that owns the complany.  It will wipe out all dealer jobs if they catch on.

They have them at Turning Stones casino in Syracuse! I played it once wasn't too big of a fan, it was a sit and go but I don't think this system would work for cash games because you have to get the money on a card and so forth and its a big inconvenience for the players buying in and cashing out!
