Poker Stars, Full Tilt and other Domains Seized by FBI

Hey Guys,

Just wanted to see if anyone had any updates on the issue with some online sites seized by the FBI. When you try to go there it states that the site is not available. Here is some info: https://www.justice.gov/usao/nys/pressreleases/April11/scheinbergetalindictmentpr.pdf

yah your money is frozen and you[ll never get it back, and those  sites are done.  End of story

they won't.  Live if anything.

Online poker recently passed in DC.......so the government will prob setup a govt operated site in a few years.....so they can profit off it.

As for sites like Pstars/ Full tilt etc.  Done.  Over.  They are into it with the DOJ........they will not win:

Disclaimer on below: I'm working with very limited info right now and have to travel today, so these are just quick thoughts. I hope to expand more with better research later this evening.

My thoughts (I've been quiet on the legislation issue recently on the boards, but have been following):

-This is really bad. This COULD possibly be (trying not to speak in absolutes with such little info at this time) the last shoe dropping on online poker (at least from reputable sites) in the US imo.
-Even if they evade the internet gambling charges on some legal theory, the money laundering and banking charges are damning. What they did was illegal (if the facts alleged in the indictment are indeed true), and they won't be able to dodge the punishment.
-The DOJ rarely loses when they go to trial. I don't see these individuals rolling the dice against them.
-This COULD spur on further efforts to legalize poker and be a net positive in the very long run, but I don't know. However, it did always have to get worse before it got better.
-It is still very early and we know little at this time. Things could rapidly change.

All in all, perhaps now everyone can see why the Reid Bill was an important compromise we HAD to make. I'm not saying I told you so and rubbing salt in very fresh wounds, just saying now is the time to press harder than ever while being open to a compromise such as the one we almost got in December.

This sucks.....Hope they don't go after the sportbooks next

Other poker rooms, sportsbooks should be okay. Otherwise they would have been on the FBI list. Traffic should go up on other sites.

This does suck....I have not played on stars since January but I sometimes like to play some low stakes SNGs....Cant even do that now.Whats next for Uncle Sam is the question?

Anyone know how I can download the Fulltilt software since their site is down? I was able to do it with Absolute.

Does this apply for Canadians too?

I am currently playing on Full Tilt without any issues but I am considering withdrawing all my $ just incase.

 those sites all were dodgy many reports came about that some pros used certain software to expose all players cards and he won millions chaeting

absolute pokers was one of the sites it happened on

poker stars also lots of funny stuff going on

full tilt also reported cheaters on thier no one had a chance to win money vs those guys

the only site to play on in USA legally NO MONEY RISKED to win money is PUREPLAY.COM

YOU DO NOT pay a dime to enter any Cash tournament

YOU can be a paid meber for only $183  for the year to have easier entry options to win money in the $5000 weekly touney The$500 The $2000  one etc...

i play there and enjoy it the sit n gos are brutal  LOL

thats where you earn free cash to buy into other tourney's or points also you need to have to buy into the cash tourney's

most cash MTT's have limit of 200 entrants and the top 25 get paid something

the big one tho where you can win a seat in the WSOP you need to win a qualifier then finsih in final 4 in the semi to play in the $10,000  WSOP on May 22nd

YOU can also play as a basic member free but then you will have freeze ups and stuff from the ads script errors that run on each game you are in

i think new members can play for 1 month for only $1 then up to you to pay for the whole year or $20 per month

they have been up and running since 2002 they are based in Calif. and are the only legal regsitered USA poker site

I spoke too soon.......last night i couldtn withdraw my money and now i can't even log onto the site.

I suppose I'll have to find a Canadian based site. I used to play on sportsinteraction but the tourneys were really small and there were not many players.

its funny you can play game of skill online for money , But you cannot play poker online. You can have horse racing betting online and buy lottery tickets online. But you cannot play a 10 cent game of poker. Just remember "Not about the Morals Its about the money" J.Todd

Full Tilt servers back up in Europe. 40,000 players online.

Anyone who wants to continue playing online poker, for a living or otherwise, better dust off their passport.
