Iveys getting ready to launch his new site, says he's going to teach the world how to play poker! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, why the hell would he do this? ,,,, why would any good player make training video's, write books, disect hands in blogs ect? ,,,, these great players make plenty from playing poker, why teach your competition how to beat you? ,,,,,,,,,, could it be that they dont win as much as we think and they need all the income they can get?,,,, or maybe it's an ego thing or maybe they just create a buisness thier wife or brother can run. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, all the top online players complain that the competition is so much better than it was a few years ago and profits are harder to come by, but yet almost every single one of them make training video's and sell  one on one lesson's ect,, sounds like thier cutting thier own throats!

Ivey has always been considered a poker recluse.

But people play poker for one reason and one reason only.

If the expected profits weren't enormous, he wouldn't have anything to do with this.

Phil Ivey has always been one of the most selfish, self-serving poker players around. Like Scalabrine said, there must be a huge amount of money involved for him to be doing this.

There is no "secret" to poker... they'll be selling re-packaged widely (mostly) available information...

It's like Kobe running a basketball clinic for grade school kids.

Well said and with 50% of the game out of our hands, one can only be so good at playing poker, including ivey and all those so called good or great players. The only diff. between them and a few 100,000 other so called good or great poker players out there (mostly online) is their name and monies earned from endorsments from poker sites and the chance to play in these closed televised, mostly cash games. Pitted VS those other type of players in a open competion like the wsop main event, they are just another name and drop out just as fast.

    Poker is not rocket science.

You can only be so good at this game and with 50% of the game out of your hands, there is very little to chose, between ivey and company and any other well schooled player.
