How many online tables do you play at the same time?
Should you stick to one table and have complete focus on that one game or do you play multi tables to maximise profits albeit you may be rushed into mistakes that you normally wouldn't make?

With cash games, the most I'll play is two at a time (and that's usually what I do). I like playing 6-handed, and the action comes around too quickly for me to deal with if I'm playing more than two tables. My bread-and-butter for the past two years has been the double-or-nothing sit n goes on PokerStars. I play four at a time when I'm playing those, because the decisions are much easier and I have developed a sound strategy to beat them.

Danno, I have recently discovered the double or nothing sit and gos and having mixed results, I can go on a run and win four in a row and then lose the next three straight. I would love to hear your strategy if you care to share.

Oz, there are too many variables to be able to give you a blueprint, so to speak. I play turbos, and I don't play any pots in the first two levels (10/20 and 15/30) unless I'm holding a super-premium hand. The blinds are just not worth stealing at those levels and it's not smart to piss away chips early on. More players will call your raises at those levels, because you won't be putting many chips in the pot, and most players are bad. They'll see a raise to 60 or 80, and call with their dumb connectors or suited cards. At higher levels, play tightens up alot. Once the antes start, that's when you really should start to get more aggressive, but smartly. I never raise up front, unless I plan on calling if someone moves in on me. That means I'm mucking AJ and such if there are still alot of people left. Obviously, the less people, the bigger your range gets. I will raise with almost anything in the cutoff, unless the blinds have proven to defend. Also, I never commit myself, and if I get repopped, I'll throw away weak hands. I raise the same amounts every time. When the BB is 100, I raise to 250. When it's 150, I raise to 350. 200, I raise to 450, and so on. I do the same whether I have AA or 43. Obviously, if I become short, I play things differently, but if I'm even sitting on 1500, I'll put 450 in on a raise, and won't be afraid to muck if someone moves on me and I'm not holding a strong hand. You have to watch their stacks though. Middling people will be more likely to fold, while short stacks and big stacks will play back at you. Like I said, alot of variables, but very formulaic, once you play alot and get used to things. Most people you'll play with are bad, just remember that and proceed with caution.

Danno, very informative stuff. Sure over a period of time patterns will emerged and its just a matter of moulding your game to the style of play. I tend to play loose in the early stages to gain some early pots but it back fires just as much as its successful. I am impressed with your discpline when raising and folding in the cutoff position. - Tight play in early stages, aggressive plays as blinds are worth stealing
- Consistent bet sizing will make it tough for your opponnents to put you on a hand
The key to it all is discipline. Poker has a great deal of variance involved and if you have poor discpline, getting on tilt will endanger you bankroll. Stay even kiel and discplined, if you feel yourself getting anxious or angry, get up and leave!! One of the best poker books Ive read is "Zen and the art of Poker"...

I have made overtime decent bankrolls with fulltilt and 888 from $100 starts and have gone broke in relatively quick time. I definately don't believe online poker is rigged because I have proven to myself twice that I can make healthy pocket change if I maintain discpline.
Would love to hear more pointers from online players and really appreciate the advice, keep it coming

agree with what these guys r sayin mostly. if im playin tournaments, i like having more tables going, im playin cash, less tables. they have laid you a pretty good blueprint for playin sit n gos.
