This hand might lead you to believe it is!

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlV3oPCl9kE

Seriously, big time bad beats happen live as well as online. You can confidently play on Full Tilt 99% of the time at the lower stakes (5/10 and under) knowing your cards are hidden and the players are playing honestly. The site has too much to lose allowing otherwise (or having insufficient security standards).

99% sure you cant be of one the many site promoters that troll poker forums. I cant believe you said what you just said though. Online is rigged, and there is no control over it.
This example here probably happens 1 out of 100,000 times live.
1 out of 100 online or less.

Now I'm a troll for pokersite promoter? Wow.

I'm sure the thousands of online pros who make a living of playing poker would have a lot to say to you. Are you suggesting they are all in some Bilderberg group secret society collecting poker profits for themselves and the sites through continuously rigged hands?

Plus, nobody comes out ahead in the long run in ONLINE poker, unless they are a schill, or a set acct. for advertising purposes. You have as much chance to win in the LON RUN as an online slot machine or BJ. The software is programmed to give and take back, very simple.

    100% incorrect.

I personally know several people who struggle to be an online pros (attempting to meet general, health, 401K, miscellaneous expenses) but have not made a deposit since their initial one and are living off their winnings.

Your comment makes little sense. The site collects a rake. You give money to opposing players or the opposite occurs if you win the hand. Therefore, many are up and many are down with the elite and better players swallowing up a large segment of the profits.

For your statement to be true, the house rake would need to eat up ALL profits which couldn't occur. The players would simply stop playing.

Crazy part is, many casinos have bad beat jackpots that get as high as 200K (I've seen 600K) which was higher than 1st place for this tournament! Too bad Robl wasn't playing 2/4 limit there...

I seen something very similar to this happen to my buddy at Foxwoods many years ago.
They came to shut down the table and condense them, but they decided to let us play 1 last hand...
1st to act raises small, most the table calls because it was the last hand... flop comes out JJA, original better raises again, and 2 people called, turn comes a 5, and river comes a 5...  I am standing behind my friend, he looks at his cards, he has pocket 5's...  The original bettor raises again, not a whole lot, one guy calls, my friend re-raises it, the original raisers goes all in, 2nd guy folds, my buddy insta-calls, and flips over quad 5's and guy flipped over quad Jacks...  We couldn't believe it, the entire table was shocked, was a big pot, my friend lost all his money and that was the end of that night!

    That was gross.

You know, if that happened at Carbon Poker, at a bad beat table Robl would've walked away with about $200,000.

    A couple of other things:

I'm not sure why SOBLATANT is so adamant about saying online poker is rigged. If it is, it's been rigged in my favor for the last few years. I do quite well, I can promise you I'm not a shill.

The other thing: what was that poker show? I recognize Mike Sexton's voice, but didn't realize he did more than just the WPT.  Anyone know if this show is on TV?

Forget Carbon Poker's Bad Beat Jackpot. Have you seen Ultimate Bet's lately? It's over $1 million right now!

I think Robl had a feeling he was beat, however much of a stretch that is to believe.

I usually flip my hand over quick at a table if I have second nuts or bottom set and think it's set over set (as a way of saving face after my shove...which shouldn't matter and actually works against me when I reload).

The only hand Robl's opponent can confidently insta-call there with was Q5 and he was the pre-flop raiser so he almost certainly doesn't have that hand.

Therefore, the insta-call must be QQ because Robl has both 9's. You can't insta-call with only a Q because Robl would have to have the bottom end of the boat 999QQ at a minimum to shove out of position so you are beat.

Robl beat him to the flip to show the world his monster first.

    Just my opinion though...

I haven't played at UB in several years, ever since the Russ Hamilton scandal.

What are their stipulations for a bad beat? At Carbon, you have to lose with quad 7s or better.  It's never happened to me, or a table I've been at, but apparently it happens quite a bit.

Lewis tells him he has Quads before Robl turns his cards over.  There is no way he put Lewis on Quads before that.  FWIW, I agree with the commentators, Lewis played that hand horribly.

Good catch...at 5:32 he says "I have quads". I didn't hear that before.

Seriously, big time bad beats happen live as well as online. You can confidently play on Full Tilt 99% of the time at the lower stakes (5/10 and under) knowing your cards are hidden and the players are playing honestly. The site has too much to lose allowing otherwise (or having insufficient security standards).

Thanks for sharing, as that was cool to watch and also listen to the commentary of Sexton and Laak.  However, that was in no way a bad beat, as QQ was ahead at all the betting stages.  And your promotion of Full Tilt leads me to believe you have some connection to the buck-toothed poker dork and part-owner, Phil Gordon.

I am not saying in any way that live hand was rigged, but I believe the magician, Esfandiari could set up quads vs. quads, so why couldn't another dealer?

Your comment makes little sense. The site collects a rake. You give money to opposing players or the opposite occurs if you win the hand. Therefore, many are up and many are down with the elite and better players swallowing up a large segment of the profits.

For your statement to be true, the house rake would need to eat up ALL profits which couldn't occur. The players would simply stop playing.
