Very early raise by a guy who had been giving out free tips to players at the table, as if he wanted to see them improve their game.  He made it 20 and I had about 200 in front of me when I look down and see AA.  I repopped to 50.  He made it 100 and I went allin.  He called with JJ.  J on the flop and I lose.  No big deal.

This is where it got funny.  He makes a comment about how I played it terribly to the rest of the table as I stood up to get more chips.  I had every intention of brushing it off and rebuying quietly until he made that comment.  So I asked him to elaborate.  He said people get way too much money in with AA and lose big pots.  I have played for years live and online.  I am pretty a pretty solid poker player. People overplay AK all day, but I'll be goddamned if I am not going to try and get all your chips in preflop with AA!!

It gets even better!  Several hands later I was sitting out after I had folded a hand and was waiting for the current hand to rap up.  That same guy had limped in late, had only the small and big blind call him. There was a very nominal amount in the pot obviously.  He proceeded to bet 3x the pot.  The other two quickly folded.  He flips over AA, shoots me a look and says "now THATS how you rockets!"  The table died laughing, and although most were complete fish, they at least realized how comical it all was.  So again I asked what he meant, and he explained that his goal is to win several small pots and would never play the way I did and risk so much heads up.

So that's how you play AA, for future reference.

    ________

Is that why he called with J-J when you went all in?  To play a small pot?

This is so preposterous it's almost not even believable.

So he calls an all in and sucks out with his Fish hooks, then butchers Bullets by not maximizing his profits & winning the least possible off it and continues to preach - sounds like a master at poker at work here. you should have asked if he has published a book on his teachings.

yup, exactly by the book. House still has an edge(unless you count cards, lol) but when you're smalltime, it's not that bad. Started with $200 on a 10 dollar table at the Tropicana and ended up with over $800 last time I played in Vegas. Overall I am damn near even though, lol. I enjoy sports gambling more though.

The guy is a first rate fool, If I have JJ I'm not calling all-in for $200 unless I know the all in bettor (s) is a big time joker who could have pocket 5's or A3. If he didn't know you well , or if you were playing soundly, then that is an automatic fold. You should have told him you'd rather have AA than JJ any day. But a guy like this just say nice hand and he should send some chips your way, donking off with medium pocket pairs.

After the second discussion I said some pretty shitty stuff, but the cop that was at the poker room was aware of the whole thing so I let it go and left within an hour or so later.

I fold as soon as I see 1 Ace in my hand, 1 Aces mean I tear the fucking cards in half.......I don't want this shit happening to me.........I'd much rather get all my chips in with a suited 9-10, so many ways to make a hand this way.

Hope you learned your lesson and take this loss as a gain, cause you are taking some real knowledge from this table.

Why argue with a douche like that? Especially after you lost a big pot. I think I would have kicked him off the chair and taught him a lesson.
