whats the best way to get better, when i play with my friends or familys or at partys i win about 80% of the time but when i play against real players i never get the chips to make moves
last night at the home game i was low stack, BB took 60% of my chips so i went all in, (blinds were high as hell by this time) AQ, flop comes out Q99, three people were playing and they had there little side pots going but i thought i had a ok chance, J comes out- another guy goes all in and we show are cards before the river, and im drawing dead, the guy had K10
i feelt like i was playing soild all night, i made great folds, folded poket threes and a guy ended up getting 4 A's(it would have gave me a full house and i would have lost my ass) folded A6 in SB, BB ended up getting two pair A and 7,
i knew when i was beat
i played well and picked up some pots when the blinds were low so the early pots i won, weren't all that much
in the past, i dind'nt know when to quit, and that was my problem but last night i kept my composher and made some great lay downs
i dont want to blame it on me not making any hands
how do i get better? and i dont want to spend money with online games
the blinds move so fast that i dont get to take as much time as i like thinking things over, when i have my house games, college partys stuff like that i have all the time in the world to think things threw and i win about 80% of the time
but the big house game i go to its about 11-13 players, start out with 200 chips blinds start out at 1,2 and go up every 15 min(2/4,4/8,16/32,25/50)
out of the 13 players 8 play in local tournaments, and the ones that dont play like donkeys and because of that it messes me up(they never win the game, just like me)
should i read a poker book?
