Getting back on my poker life with a $10k bankroll

Okay guys need advice on what stakes I should play, mostly cash games live, not gonna do online for awhile. I'm doing this because I am running real cold betting in baseball and need to build my bankroll until football season in 2 months. When I stopped playing over a year ago I was playing 2/5 nl in Vegas. Thanks for any info and advice guys. P.S. yes I will be doing this in Vegas for the next 2 months.

Gl bimmer - if you are staying for 2 months I'd imagine that 1-2 NL as the primary game and 2-5 when you know the game is good or certain players are playing would be ideal. Strictly 2-5 sessions could deplete your bankroll VERY quickly if you have a few bad sessions. It really depends if you are already committed to staying 2 months or if that's your goal. Fwiw my roll is about 5k and I only play 1-2 live(unless very special circumstances) and even smaller online. Good luck to you. I might be out in vegas next month so maybe we cross paths.

It depends on what your looking to do man.

If your getting back into Poker and you plan on playing for the long term 10k is just over a sufficient bankroll for $1 - $2

$300 Buy-ins * 30 = $9,000

You need at least 15k to play $2 - $5 the right way.

$500 * 30 = $15,000

But if your only looking to play for 2 months and your trying to get a quick score then yeah, you can play $2 - $5. But if you run bad you will go broke. Then again if you run good you can reach your quick score goal.

Keep in mind that your doing a whole heck-of-alotta gambling with option B.

My mom just recently retired and is is about to lease an apartment there so i will be shacking up there (about 3-6 months), but yes i will be chipping in with the rent. And yes my mom also gambles but she only plays blackjack. Thanks for the advice guys and I will give an update when I begin to play. 

Oh yeah, I start doing this around 2nd week of August. 

honestly i would go to the wynn and play the 1-3 Nl....the best game in the house....i would sit there and crush that fish table....be patient and you will make consistent money....i beleive the game is a spread 1-3nl with a 1k or unlimted buy-in...i cant remember its been a while but i played there for weeks on end and crushed the games there....go there with ur 10k bankroll and you will be fine....just remember to sit at a table and play you should have at least 25 buy ins to be secure..you will be fine...good luck and keep us updated...i am trying to get out there in october so if your out there maybe we can have a beer and play some cards

Not sure if  you seen this but tips straight from Chris Ferguson.

I'll never buy into a cash game or a Sit & Go with more than 5 percent of my total bankroll (there is an exception for the lowest limits: I'm allowed to buy into any game with a buy-in of $2.50 or less).

I won't buy into a multi-table tournament for more than 2 percent of my total bankroll and I'm allowed to buy into any multi-table tournament that costs $1.

If at any time during a No-Limit or Pot-Limit cash-game session the money on the table represents more than 10 percent of my total bankroll, I must leave the game when the blinds reach me.
