I really want to believe that I can trust online poker but I can't. I don't want to sound like an ass, but I am an above average poker player and almost every time I get on Full Tilt, I will get up quite a bit and then get some unbelievable beats on the river. The thing I have noticed is that if I'm up really big, a player comes in to the table I'm at and the unreal beats will come from that player, and it happens about 4 or 5 times in an hour. I wish I could show you guys my hand history. For example, tonight I am bored and start at a table with $20...it's a .50/1.00 table. After about 2 hours, I am up $120.00, which is pretty damn good for that low of a limit table. A dude swoops in with $20 across from me and proceeds to river me like you would not believe. The guy will call my bets on the Turn and he hit 3 straights and 2 flushes on the river, to take pots away from me when I had a decent amount of my stack in. I also got rivered a few other times by another person, but smaller pots. Anyway, just like the two times before, this 'person' gets me almost back to what I started with and then just leaves the table. This is has happened THREE times to me in the last two weeks!! I know that you will probably say I should have quit while I'm ahead, but I was honestly killing these players at the table and the only thing keeping me from making another 5x my money was getting rivered numerous times on big pots......which happened. Anyway, it fucking sucks and it's fishy as hell.

All of that aside, the reason I think this crap is so fishy and these horrible beats are set up is because I noticed that the bigger the pots get, the bigger rakeback Full Tilt gets. So like tonight: I have 2 Clubs and 2 clubs are on the board. I'm holding the King of Clubs and a club comes up on the river. (no ace on the board but there is a King) so I bet pretty big and the same guy that rivered me out of my money numerous times, bets big and I call....he has the Ace of clubs. I don't consider that a horrible beat, but my point is that I get a nice pot with K, K if no club comes up on the river, but one does while I hold the K of clubs and the other bigger stack holds the Ace. I see this happen a LOT. Does every site get rakeback? If so, I really don't think online poker can be 100% trusted. I have seen unreal things happen on Full Tilt and I'm pretty damn new there. So instead of being up over $100+ and just killing these donkeys at the table, I'm not up $20 miserable dollars and have been dealt 7,2 or 6,2 on my last three BBs and have been hovering at +$20 or so for the last hour and a half. I truly think they have a system that keeps the money shuffling around and that will kill people who are up big (on horrible beats) to keep people playing forever. The more people, the bigger the pots and the more pots, and that is how these sites get paid and make money. It's all based on the number of pots and the pot size.

The same people that that online Blackjack is rigged, but online poker is NOT, contradict themselves and are fools.  If one of the computer programs is rigged, there is no reason not to rig the other.  I play pretty decent Hold em myself, and overall, I am not down any money since I started years ago.  But I think the online poker is 80% luck regardless of how well you play.

I also believe the programmers have sinister motives to keep decent players from making too much money and scaring all the fish away.  A couple of trends at PokerStars that I have noticed is it seems like regardless of how well you hit the flop, the miracle turn card regularly gives the underdog many outs on the river.  Also, it seems that many times if a BAD player goes all-in with a dominated hand pre-flop, the flop hits him perfectly.

I think whether you catch cards or not has a lot to do with how often the software is or is not updated, and how long it has been since your last deposit.

But keep our discussion quiet since ChanceP erroneously thinks that only losing players complain about bad beats, when that is not the case at all.  At least when I get delivered horrendous beats in LIVE casino poker, I deal with it a lot easier.  People say there is no reason TO rig poker software.  I say there is no reason NOT to rig the game to increase company profits just like they do with Blackjack software.

Also, I'm sure people like ChanceP can show how I erroneously played my hand by calling an all-in and only being an 80% favorite pre-flop with my AA vs his JJ.  When I lose a big pot, I rarely have the worst of it odds wise.  And if it is a coin flip and I unfortunately get all my chips in, I expect to win around half those races in the long run.  It seems closer to 40% however.

Well Wiz i still cannot see how they can program each account to fix winnings,do not buy into that, but then not a computer genius i work as a Welder.

Most is just bad players will call anything but they go broke in no time and there are people out there who win consistantly.

Dude, it's the same on Bdog. I used to win a little on there, but not anymore.

If they can rig it to rake a pot, why not rig a ghost player to suck out?  I mean, it's not that far-fetched.
Unfortunate that they can't be satisfied with the house rake, because I enjoy playing online.

Monopoly, I think you quoted the wrong post.  To say you are computer illiterate is a monumental understatement as opposed to a weak merely statement.

ChanceP, do you play LIVE Blackjack along with poker?  If so, you are obviously cleaning up online there also.  BTW, how is your poker partnership working with SmartBets?  I am also waiting for your thesis on why you should NOT get all your chips in heads up as an 80% favorite pre-flop.

The over/under is 2 lame responses from you, and the under seems like a sucker bet.

my best friend makes a living playing online poker ...hes done it on several different sites...including UB and Pacific back befor they got busted and taken over...iam not gonna say that its totally rigged..however if you play on a site like i do(bodog)...you will notice that its very rare for one person to be dealt pocket pairs...it is always in pairs or sets...and in some cases 4 players can have PP's...this is a givin...and its proven every day...also this same friend notices his bad streaks happen to come after a cash out...if you play on poker stars..you will soon realize that 2 pairs and sets are very tough plays due to the over kill of straights and flushes...usually hit on a runner runner..lol

Well first of all you saying "if I clean up in Poker i should clean up in blackjack too" just shows your utter stupidity and cluelessness. Not even comparable by any means but since u lost ur ass online ur trying to compare it to online BJ i get it but so so so far fetched dude,

Also never had a "partnership" with smartbet. Was actually checking him out cuz i thought he was a scam, and he still might be. But keep making shit up dude. I mean ur a shitty pokjer player and looking for a reason whjy you lost other than you suck so make shit up about me, a winning online player, to make yourself feel better. Youre awesome

So basically you compared poker to Blackjack, a HUGE LOL

Then you made up a story about me being "partners" with smartbet,a  complete LIE.

    Good post dude

This is why i hammer you guys so hard.

You guys talk about ONE beat , talk about how "it always SEEMS this happens and that happens" yet you have no statistical proof of anything. Yet all these internet pros and all their tracking software hasnt spotted anything out of the prdinary but "Joe Covers' and his $50 deposit on Friday night has uncovered the scam!!! Such fukn horseshit

Then you got clowns like wizardofignorance comparing blackjack to poker and making up stories about my "partnersips" with guys. Cant make a descent point? Then make shit up!!! thats how you guys do it

    One last time:

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD A PRO POKER PLAYER , LIVE OR ONLIBE, SAY ITS RIGGED????

So all these guys who know poker as good as anyone think its legit. But Wizardofoz lost his $50 deposit so it HAS to be rigged.

See how ridiculous you guys sound?

You'll have to excuse me if i never take anything you say seriously again after this statement. Maybe I'll just highlight this gem every time you try and talk about poker.

You should go talk to ten of the top poker pros in the world and ask them this same question. I'd love to see the looks on their faces!!! It'd be like, "Is this guy fucking stupid?'

    The answer would be YES!!!!!

CHANCEP, you are the only one who sounds ridiculous here, as in all of the other poker blogs. Like ive said before, you are either the stupidest, and most ignorant person alive, or more to the point, a rigged poker site promoter. How could anybody be so ignorant?

For ChanceP, I was trying to make the statement that Poker software and Blackjack software might be eerily similar and rigged in the same way.  But that is too deep for a simpleton like him to give me even a remotely educated response.  I hope he keeps referring back to my argument so he can refuse to grasp how ignorant he is of the potential for software manipulation.

And ChanceP did not let me down with his multiple lame responses.  Just because I question software, ChanceP erroneously thinks I have to be a losing player.  Too bad he cannot even be right on just one of his replies.

And ChanceP, since you are not very far from Vegas, go console OUR fallen hero and poker god, Phil Ivey.  I'm still in shock over his quick exit from the final table.

Whatever you say pal. I guess its just being "manipulated" in my favor then.

The other thing you keep forgetting is there is SIGNIFIGANTLY more motive for the blackjack site to "rig" than the poker site. But think as you wish. You spend your time worrying about if the site is being rigged in your $5 games and I'll worry about winning money on there.

You also didnt answer my question, Why do none of the top players in the world question the online game? Why is that?

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD A PRO POKER PLAYER , LIVE OR ONLIBE, SAY ITS RIGGED????

let me start by saying that ChanceP, I agree with most of what you are saying......however, the above quoted language made me laugh hard

you mean, b/c the Pro players, who wear their sponsers names all over their body, getting HUGE money, at every tourney .....and GET PAID TO PLAY at these sites they endorse, aren't saying  they're rigged....they're not

I could not have said it better myself, ICAP.  Poker "pros" are not going to bash the sites that they promote.  That is the reason they live so comfortably.  In the long run, very little of their success, if any, comes from their actual card playing.  Guys like Lederer, Ivey, Gordon, Matusow, etc. are rich because they have ownership in a billion dollar business called Full Tilt.

Because of that investment, they can drop big amounts of money and still recover financially.  Without the income from their business, eventually they fade away or eke by just like the rest of the "pros."
