NFL playoff history is filled with heartwarming stories about perennial losing franchises that finally broke through and earned themselves a home playoff game.  For teams with a dubious past, it's a long-awaited opportunity, and one they seldom fail to take advantage of.

The home playoff game the Bengals lost four years ago to the Steelers doesn't count, in my book.  Palmer went down in the first quarter and that was that.

What other decision was there for the Bengals brain trust to make?  It was either rest your starters and host the Jets next week, or, go all out and if you win you host either Baltimore or Pittsburgh. 

It was a no-brainer for them to lay down and welcome Mark Sanchez and the Jets to Cincinnati.

If memory serves me right, I think the Bengals would have been facing the Texans.  I could be wrong.

Wasn't Houston on the bubble in the late game last Sunday? Pittsburgh was already eliminated earlier in the day.

I agree that they made the right choice, but like I said in "The Public's" eye they will look like they made a bad choice if they lose.

hmmm, bungals must be giving the Jets this game too huh.... haha. Why did they even start their starters last week if the intention was to lay down?????  Bungals look the same to me in this game as well. Palmer still sucks.
