But it is fast, cheap and pleasing to the White pallet and then supply and demand take over... you would never see someone from Itally loving Olive garden and frequenting this establishment the way White people do...
Old spaghetti factory is the same story...
PF Changs/Panda express is Chinese food for White people
Chilis/Taco bell is Mexican food for white people
Benihana is Japanese food for white people
Go to any mall and you will "ethnic food" for the white masses... while all of the ethnic people are eating at legit places...
Mcdonalds is the ultimate uniter for black and white people as both races seem to love that crap....

Hahaha... isn't this the truth! I am white but enjoy spicy food. The spicer the better. I hate bland food. But I have to admit when I sit down at some of my favorite restraunts I too notice often that I am the only white person. Not that it matters but just an observation. Just like white people love mayo and ketchup. Two of the blandest condiments you can put on anything.

I have to agree. I think it boils down to demographics. If you were eating in an Olive Garden in the middle of Downtown Detroit, I'm sure it would be very dark in there. The bullet holesin the wall might let some sun in though.

I still cook the foods that my parents taught me to prepare when I was a kid. They were from the Ukraine and the foods are just as good to me now as when I was a kid. The only difference is I add more meat and pepper to my cooking. I use more black pepper in a month than most people use in a year.
The main Ukrainian foods that I love to cook are borsch, varenyky, and holubtsi. My wife loves my cooking. I told her that when I was a kid... I decided that if I wanted to eat good food, I'd better learn to cook good food, so I did, and my parenst were great teachers along with my great-grandmother and grandmother.
Good thing I learned to cook so well because my wife does not do well in our kitchen. I eat well because I cook well.
Heck... I'm gonna make some holubtsi this weekend... I can't wait. 
I agree with you 100%, your family cultural history and your pallet is beyond the crap that is served in those types of restaurants...
Interestingly I once knew a woman from Serbia who said that the European way is to take the time to cook your own food... she said the ameican way to her eat was with one hand on the steering wheel and one hand on a burger stuffing your mouth while you pull away from the drive thru...
What you have integrity in your family tradition ... Places like olive garden are open because people have lost touch with what ever roots they might have had...
I had a patient once Ukraine that was super cool and would bring my clinic food every time we saw her son... The food was awesome (always starting with a huge tray of a bun like thing stuffed with meat) I which I knew more about food from that area...
