+2.5 RL.  What's that, only laying about -210 on the Royals.

I have bought into the JM system (the pics anyway if not the money management).  I just can't bring myself to pick the Royals because of the JM criteria.  First, there is over a .01 difference between the Royals and the Angles RPI rating--it is .06.  Way over the recommendation.  Further, the Angles are in the top 2 teams atop of the RPI index.  Again, system betting criteria says don't play against any top 3 team.

Further, and these are my own thoughts, the Royals keep coming up as an "unofficial" play because of two reasons: 1)  they keep getting swept and 2) there is a greater than .01 RPI difference.  This might just be my imagination, but they seem to be getting worse as the year goes on and the Angles seem to be getting better.

The Royals may very well overcome all this and win a series bet against the Angles, but I am going to take last night's wins and wait for a better deal to come along.

GL to all those who take KC tonight.  Don't forget--it's a double header, so if KC doesn't bring in the money after the first game, you better get your second bet down very quickly.

It just drives me crazy people making a dog into a fave. 
 
Also it seems that he gets the best of both worlds here.  If the team loses he says it isn't a play and if it wins it's JM is the greatest thing ever.
 
So is it a play or not?

you know the system lippman - why don't you try to add value to the thread verses constant criticism - KC +1.5 is an unofficial play because of the filtering - but combined the record is 43-0 for the season (22 of them official)

I don't think he gets the best of both worlds by claiming another win if KC wins and saying it doesn't count if KC loses.  In the email I get from him he very clearly states which plays are "official"and which plays are "unofficial" and keeps track of both independently (each undefeated to this point of the season).  It appears he is very above board about his record (at least during this MLB season).  Of course it's easy to be above board when you don't have any series losses.

I just don't like the feel of tonite's Angles v Royals matchup.  I have not gone back and checked for myself, but from reading different posts at covers it appears that last year's system had somewhere between 4-6 losses.  I am wondering if this Angles v Royals doesn't fit the profile of what one of last year's losses looks like.

Why don't you post the system so everyone knows it.  Or is asking something simple like that being to critical.

No its not according to JM
its just something that I have done a couple of times in the past with these UNOFFICIAL PLAYS
mostly I will even only wager 1/2 of what I would normally & then I might even take the +2 1/2 just to better my chances..................
I look at these unofficial wins as a bit of a bonus but at the same time Im really not risking too much

OK,

All I have is whatever system he sent me this year I myself dont even know about v1 or v2 or whatever else there might be out there
BUT
I seem to think that
OFFICIAL PLAYS: should exactly follow his most recent and updated MLB SYSTEM
NON-OFFICIAL PLAYS: Im guessing go outside of his updated rules such as RPI DIFFERIENTIAL and as it seems these plays should be considered "good possibilities but proceed with caution" 

Thats how I view it
anybody else see it differently ??????????

That's what I don't get though.  It says RPI, but where is he getting this number from.  Does he generate the RPI numbers?  Is it using USA today for the numbers.
 
So anything to do with the RPI stuff isn't an offical play? Did he do the RPI stuff because the offical plays were not generating enough plays?

You guys have to remember that we have been playing the sweep chase system long before JM started marketing it.  It usually only has 2-3 losses per year, and one year it had only one loss.  And that is with no RPI filters. Last year was the first year steroids were completely out of the game.  Bullpen ERA was at a historical high and that led to a record 6 sweep chase losses.  The middle relievers could no longer eat greenies or any other banned substance that they were used to.  Things have settled down this season and there has really only been on sweep chase loss(Washington, but the C game was rained out).  So all of these unofficial plays are still high percentage plays.  The .10 RPI filter makes the winning percentage even higher.  PSIC noticed years ago that when backtesting sweep chases, he would never play a team with a .475 RPI or lower.  That right there eliminated many losses over a 10 year period.  As of right now that includes Cleveland, KC, and Washington.

Morrison uses ESPN's RPI.  I remember hearing about that when he sent out the V2 Email last year.  It works very well Lipps.  Try it if you haven't yet.

Im sure especially being a doubleheader
I could play either side and win actually probably have a better chance betting on the ANGELS
but
Ive deceided to follow a proven system and not rely upon my own feelings.............
So I hope it proves itself again..........

Actually it's oppisite.  The RPI filters cut the plays cut out 40% of the sweep chases.  That is why he still sends out the "unofficial" plays.  Washington was kind of a loss, or a half loss, becuase the last game was rained out.

Hey Lippsman, I got that already, looks like were in the forums...lol  This is what he does, his system has only so many plays a year right?  Depending on the number of sweeps and even not all of them fit his criteria for a play.  He knows 1 loss on one of these plays can wipe out a majority of the season.  So he is using non-official plays to boost his record if he wins, but he won't count them if he losses.  So say he's 30-0 for the season on official plays, and 20-0 on non-official plays he'll be saying for baseball he went 50-0.  Now say he had a loss on an official play, if he reports it he will say he was 49-1.  Now say he had a loss on an non-official play he will say he was 49-0. 
 
Yes any sweep that doesn't meet rpi is non-official.  And yes he does that to generate more plays.  I just use espn for rpi....

Are you guys sure he's using the unofficial plays as wins in his stats because in one email I got from him he says his record.  20-0, but then states that he's 39-0 with the unofficial plays.  Here is an excerpt from that email.  People saying he's claiming the unofficial plays on his actual official records aren't telling the truth.
 
"We have won every single series this year -- whether the plays are official or not! That's right, we are completely undefeated so far
this MLB season regardless of the RPI differential between the two
teams! Our official record is also a cool-as-ice 20-0! Along with
the unofficial series, we are now 39-0 this season!"
 
If you go to his site you'll see he's not claiming the unofficial games onto his official record.

Yeah right, so next years advertising he's going to say he was 20-0 officially and 19-0 non-officially???  He will just say he was 39-0.  Why doesn't he post his daily picks record...lol Thats a joke and a half.  Take a look at johny money's thread he's 11-2 on game 1's and is making me big

Well considering his mlb record last year was 43-0 and we still have 2 months of betting left I could see the amount of official games played being around 40.  For him to deviate way above that with the same system makes no sense.
