But just by saying fake news to everything, trumpers somehow believe in everything the compulsive liar says.If everyday people tried to get through life saying everything was "fake news" and were believed and got away with it,nobody would ever have to take responsibility for any wrongdoing they've done (just like trump his whole life).See if your believed if you do it in your everyday life,

You get pulled over by a cop,cop says I got you going 15 over of the limit,'Ya,that's fake news officer"

Your wife comes up to you,hey I heard your doing the broad at the end of the block,"That's fake news honey, you know she ain't my type"

The IRS guy says he caught you cheating on your taxes,'That's a lie,it's a witch hunt"

Now wonder the guy brags about being able to shoot somebody on 5th Ave,and not one of his supporters caring. It's because they'll believe (or just don't really give a shit if he's actually telling the truth) everything he says.

Exactly. It would be fascinating to perform a psychological case study on how he gets his followers to believe that he is somehow an underdog that has been targeted his whole life when he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and ran with the elites scamming people his entire life. Even his followers know he is a low moral, low character individual that lies constantly, yet still believe him. Shocking really. They brush off his lying as "exaggerating" to justify their support of the guy. It's unreal really.

    @DeezyAZ81

He somehow convinced his followers he's against illegal aliens, while he was hiring illegal aliens.

Oh yeah, his followers know he's a piece of shit, but most of them have no integrity or character either,so they just don't care. It's just not something that's important to them.Think about it,it's hard for someone to criticize someone else for being a liar and a cheat,if their also a liar and a cheat.Birds of a feather, hangout together.

He also is “tough on China” despite China making the entire Trump brand of clothing for the last 20 years. Reliant on China is more like it.

Again: I saw one quote about this that applies to the way folks look at these things.  It is partisan-viewing at its best.  Whether you classify it as a fundraiser for campaigns or not, people see politicians do this and condemn the other side no matter what the cause or reason: “Like the Clintons with their Clinton Foundation, right?” Not sure how much of this you have a solid link on?  Send it my way.  Again, not my guy BUT your guy.  You and your guys are the ones that are harping on him all the time for everything.  I just saw his results and think he is the only candidate that might beat Biden. But if another candidate emerges in the next few months -- then all on the Right should all get on board, including YOU.  Then the Right can convince the Only-Trump guys why that candidate is better. But to tacitly think Biden is that guy is silly to me.I said i would never vote for the POS,you said you can't find any better of a candidate.Who's guy is he again?

The point there is that the Right has had time to get another candidate up to speed and has not done it.  The Left makes sure to keep bring Trump up because they want him to run more than the folks on the Right do; they know he is an easy guy to run against because they can rally their base against him.

Look in this forum and see how many Anti-Trump threads you see versus how many Pro-Trump threads you see.  Granted there are some Only-Trump guys.  But not as many as the Left want you to think.

But I certainly understand that you do not like him -- that was never a question I had.

Oh,it basically was not done, okay lets see if voters can get the pictures of it "basically happening" out of their heads when it's time to vote. And we'll see if they can stick something to trump,it ain't over yet.Ya i know "it's just something your not interested in",but I'll bet a lot of voters are still interested in it though. What you should of just said is,"I like to try to keep folks focused on one or two topics, and the topics where trump looks bad.Are not any of the ones,I like to focus on"

Yessir. It may not be over yet.  But look at what all they have tried to stick so far, without much luck.  But you are correct they will certainly keep trying.  Unless, they have to switch their vitriol to DeSantis.

I read a good article about this today and the guy was drawing various political parallels and one of the things he said regarding this was:

"One of the lessons in the Samson story is that a man can still be used to achieve great things in spite of his glaring flaws."

But you are correct I prefer to stay on topic in a discussion because it helps streamline it.

But on that subject alone the Left and Media are inconsistent.  They would do the same thing to a Pence or a Huckabee.  It has nothing to do with how likable, moral, or kind to people a candidate on the Right is.  That is not a consideration with them; they just use it to their benefit to put down an opposing candidate.  They would never support a 'good-guy' candidate on the Right.

That is why I was not focused on that.  It is a complete wheel-spinner.

I was more interested in what candidate(s) on the Right you would support:  you say none, ever again, because of Trump and your perception of total support of him by the Republicans.  This is flatly wrong.  He does not have total support.  So, why not support an Anti-Trump guy on the Right?

Then I wanted to know why if you were able to vote for Republican candidates before (this assumes some support of their 'values' that you keep bringing up) -- but could not overlook any of Trump's flaws.  You say, no.

I respect your opinions.  I just wish you would reconsider your stances.  No point in letting one man and his actions get to you that way.  But I get that some folks cannot get past that and their convictions are not stable.  No big deal.  I was just hoping for a more in-depth answer.  It just seems limited and narrow in your replies.

But I, for sure, know some Never-Trumpers on the Right.  But there were some Never-McCain, Never-Romney voters as well.

You do not see nearly as much of this on the Left.  They are much more convicted and united.

This is a problem the Right has to solve.  They need consistency and unity -- they do not have either -- let alone a viable alternative to Trump.

I like some teams better then others, but not really any team in particular.I wouldn't mind seeing Toronto win it ,just cause their fans haven't seen them win in awhile, and I like their team.I wouldn't mind seeing Seattle do good, just cause I like that city and because of how new of a team they are.And I wouldn't mind Edmonton advancing or winning it,just cause I like watching McDavid play hockey.I do like a couple teams in the series that their in now,I think Carolina wins their series, and I think Vegas,Toronto and Edmonton will advance.I'm kind of thinking (or maybe more hoping) Boston gets upset somewhere down the line, just cause they been so dominate so far this year, and I'm not a big fan of Marchand. How bout you,you liking any team in particular?

I really want Edmonton to win.  Even though I played the Kings big last night.  I thought Oilers would have too much pressure on them to start.  Folks in the family like them and my team did not even make it.  So, I can root for them.  It would be nice to see McDavid win it for sure.  I would just like to see a Canadian team win it for a change.  I do like great stories -- so if Boston were to get some sweeps going after the year they had -- I could get behind them.  But mainly I just love NHL playoffs, so hoping for a lot of good series.  I do not like Toronto to get through if Tampa is consistent.  But teams that play great regular season can easily falter in the playoffs, especially if they run into a hot goalie. So, not sure about Vegas.  But certainly great games.  And OT playoff games are the best!

Absolutely it is on both sides.  But for sure the Media is majority Left so it is more noticeable from them.
Again, no need to keep bringing Trump up about every issue you discuss.  This topic here was about the Media and the Left and whether they would acknowledge a more ‘likeable’ candidate.  Not one man — Trump — and their actions.
For sure, there are some on the right that like some of the Democratic politicians more than others for these reasons.  For example, take Gabbard. A lot of Republicans like her, but look how the Media have started treating her now, etc.

You see this a lot from the Anti-Trump voters where they actually advocate supporting ‘likeable’ Democrats in order to go against Trump-supported candidates.  You will never see the Democrat party do this.
    For example:

“In a Monday op-ed article they said electing "moderate Democrats" was necessary in the short term.”

“Two GOP officials have urged Republicans in some cases to vote Democratic in the 2022 midterm elections as one of several ways to bolster the party from candidates they described as "pro-Trump extremists."”

“"Rational Republicans are losing the party civil war," they wrote. "And the only near-term way to battle pro-Trump extremists is for all of us to team up on key races and overarching political goals with our longtime political opponents: the Democrats."”

“Their strategy would involve GOP voters supporting Democrats like Rep. Abigail Spanberger of Virginia, Rep. Elissa Slotkin of Michigan, and Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona in what they called "difficult races" likely to feature Trump-supported Republicans. They also advocated defending what they called a "small nucleus of courageous Republicans" such as Reps. Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and Peter Meijer.”

There are other examples.  That is just one with a sampling of names.  This is something that you do not see much from the Left.  And once the Right acts like they like a candidate on the Left — the Media starts to tear that candidate down.

This is also another point to show that not all on the Right really support Trump.  Not at all.

But the Left ‘support’ him.  That is what they keep bringing him up on everything.  He is a very easy candidate to run against.  Largely because he divides some on the Right as well.

So, again, not all Republicans support Trump.  And some are open to more ‘likeable’ Democratic candidates.

peace_5  Yes, amazing to me how he was able to unify a base to vote for such an uncharismatic guy as Biden.  You are correct, this is a perfect example of people voting AGAINST someone and not necessarily FOR someone.

    @MrWhatsItToYa

I will say it is very, very hard for him to win.  But he gives the Republicans the best chance and they realize it.  However, the country is divided enough that if the economy or something that folks are concerned about around election time is an issue that might help him or hurt Biden.  There are only a very few folks in a very few spots in key states that matter.  If the Republicans could convince enough of them and make sure they vote for Trump -- he could win.  But it is so unlikely that there is a lot of talk about -- so, what if they lose this time or if they find another candidate, it does not matter.  They think the better plan is to get better going forward for the next cycle.  But these same guys had the chance for the last 2 years and have not done it.

The issue is also that Trump does not generate as much interest as he did the first time -- as far as being a change from the normal politician.  Because he is NOW a politician.

The other issue is that Republicans tend to NOT vote AGAINST someone -- so, they will not for FOR Trump just to vote AGAINST Biden.  So, I see more of them staying home -- just as they did with McCain and Romney.

On the other hand, if the Democrats stick with Biden and all of the polls show Trump losing all the way through the cycle -- do the Democrats go out en masse and vote for Biden as much as they did last time?

Maybe the Democrats switch to Newsome and a good VP, of interest, then they could have more rejuvenation than with an even older Biden.  Then I think they absolutely win running away.

But, either way, it will be very interesting to see how it plays out.

The former guy would not say whether he wants Russia or Ukraine to win the war, instead saying that he wants the war to end. Trump said he thinks that Russian President Vladimir "Putin made a mistake" by invading Ukraine, but he stopped short of saying that Putin is a war criminal.

That's something that "should be discussed later," Trump said.

Sen. Todd Young of Indiana told CNN's Manu Raju that he thinks "President Trump's judgment is wrong in this case" when asked about the comments on the war and Putin.

Young added that "of course it does" worry him. "That's why I don't intend to support him for the Republican nomination."

Asked why he won't support Trump, Young said: "Where do I begin?"

Later, Young told CNN, "I'll be supporting about anybody but him."

Sen. Josh Hawley, a Missouri Republican, told Raju that Putin is "probably" a war criminal when asked about Trump's town hall comments.

The former president also said he would pardon "a large portion" of the rioters at the US Capitol on January 6. "I am inclined to pardon many of them," Trump said Wednesday night.

Asked about Trump's comments about pardoning January 6 rioters, Hawley said, "If you're asking me do I think we should pardon people who engaged in rioting behavior? No."

Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina told Raju that, "anybody who crossed into the Capitol (on January 6) under the circumstances that I witnessed first hand, it's hard for me to have a positive predisposition towards them."

President Trump explains the 5M or so reasons why we 'might' be allowing China's military into Cuba in the brief video inside the link below. Hunter is truly bad a** trying to speed up the payment from CCP officials. For you 'smarter than you' Leftists. CCP equals Chinese Communist Party.

What does trump do with campaign contributions.

    A pay hookers hush money.

Line the pocket of his family and friends.

Or c pay for attorney fees to defend him from rape charges and felony indictments.

    D all the above...

    And the correct answer is....
