all I can add to this is please do yourself a HUGE favor and hard ball these jewelers down to the fking BARE BONES.
these fuckers will burn your wallet down to lint balls if you let them...100 times worse then car salesman.
I was ready to walk up to the counter when I got engaged and pay $9500 for her total package....and as I was walking up there I had this erie feeling like I was getting fucked...I said to the guy "you know what?" "i'm going to hold off and look around a bit more"...the dudes mouth dropped and he tried every angle to get me to buy right there and I just wouldn't, I stuck to my guns...well I drove right out of there and went to a pretty well respected jeweler in the mall across the street and got a nicer ring, .25 more of a carot, and they also tossed in my band and it was $6500 total....shop around and hard ball the hell out of ALL OF THEM....you will save thousands and get great quality being frugal and a be tough sell to these fuckers.
