talent-wise its a no-brainer,i think if bothe teams play to their potential blazers coast in without breaking a sweat...but as we all know straaaange s h i t can happen on any given nite in nba..we see it every season,so hard to cap the motivation of these dudes...i love the play and will bet it myself based purely on the trainwreck of a roster phoenix has but please for the love of everything thats good,DONT drop a half bankroll on it.....not sure how much you value money but obviously you will feel absolutely ill if sum weirdness goes down and suns are competitive......remember the players,as bad as they are, will still be trying hard.they are not instructed to tank.its just that management creates an environment were they are destined to lose due, predominantly,to over-all lack of ability.....but the players still bust their balls.they got ego's and want bigger paychecks no matter wat kind of scrub they are

Plumlee is actually a fine young player.  Suns sans Gortat have big man problems. True.  Suns still have not solved all the problems with 2 quality point guards that really need to work together.
The good news for the Suns is
They finally have a good coach.
    Line up is seriously underrated.
    Bet itself seems reasonable.
Suns still went 5-2 in the preseason.
    Bet amount is silly.

For someone who claims sports is fixed its hard to believe youd put half your bankroll on a game.

hey scal, best of luck to you.  either i didn't read right; but you didn't mention goran dragic.  you didn't mention that a horrible phoenix team beat portland easily at home twice last year.  the game in portland was a three pointer.   you didn't mention that phoenix, under hornacheck, was strong in the preseason (as was portland).  oh, and that portland's only loss in the preseason was to phoenix at home.  both teams will show up in the first game.

    I haven't picked a winner in years....

When you create a thread and explain your pick in detail, it's because you are DESPERATE for attention on an anonymous gambling website (and this humble harry who intructs me on the virtue of humility probably posted a pic of his five dollar footlong on Facebook with the words "oh la la! lunchy munchy!" under it, two minutes ago)...

It better not even sniff 7.5 by the time I get to it.

Yes half. What's my read on Chicago/Mia tonight? None.

What's my read on orl/ind tonight? None.

You can see what kind of read I have on this game and I am not letting it get away cheap.

I just happened to follow the Blazers in the second half of last year much more than normal since they were getting spotted very large numbers on the road and at home and after they had the worst finish to a season in team history, I was looking for this first game with baited breath.

The Suns are famous for cutting payroll at any  cost and look what they did to an already terrible team. I couldn't ask for a better road game outside of the Sixers (which wouldn't be as good given the easy coast travel actually).

They finally have a good coach.
    Line up is seriously underrated.
    Bet itself seems reasonable.
Suns still went 5-2 in the preseason.
    Bet amount is silly.

You have the wrong Plumlee brother. The halfway decent one is on the Nets (and even he's not anything to write home about). Miles is not an NBA center.

Goran Dragic runs their point. He doesn't need mentioning.

Go look at the starting lineup for the team that beat Portland in the preseason and tell me how many guys are still with the team.

Last season was a debacle for the Blazers filled with injuries so the only relevant thing to me that is worth mentioning this year is the losing streak they are trying to snap.

    Nice write-up.

The number is moving man, but I think that is based on the trade of Gortat rather than "public" money coming in.  Gortat trade doesn't happen it may be 3.5 at worse.

Since it is rising though, I may just have to go hammer it today.

    Good Luck

    Great write-up, scala.
Whether it hits or not, it's always a great pleasure to read a strong argument such as yours. I am definately on it. Let's cash it.
Btw, my company sent me to Australia for a six-month assignment. I wanted to come to the States hoping to see an MLB or NBA game. Well, Australia is a nice place to stay, but I don't think I get used to these cricket or rugby thing. Lol. Just stopped here to tell you how I am going. Hope to see you more of your picks as the hoops season is on the way. Good luck.

Also, it looks as though a former competitor of mine, a rival foe, hailing from Madison Memorial HS, Mr. Wesley Matthews has been cleared and looks to see action Opening night.

Always a fan of Wes.  True competitor who leaves it out on the floor. Looks as though he's got the irregular heartbeat under control.

Even with the Gortat trade, I was still hopeful for 3/3.5 when it opened at my book which could be found on the web even after the trade only to be pushed higher. In theory, Gortat is worth .5 pt at best. Maybe on a team as bad as the Suns he's a full point at most but certainly nothing more (and a full point is a big stretch imo).

Wow! Australia. That sounds great. Yeah, they may eat nothing but Vegemite but look at the place, where is the food? It is virtually desert in some places.

Drop in and let me know how that place is (attractions, weather, scenery etc.) after your trip is finished. I'd be interested in visiting there one day and would value a solid, informed opinion.

    THANK YOU!

I had info he wouldn't play because of the irregular heartbeat just because the team was being extra cautious, but it appears otherwise.

Guys, he can drop 14-16 and can hit the three. This is a big plus to the starting five.

That gives a starting five vs. the Suns of:

    Aldridge
    Lillard
    Matthews
    Batum
    Lopez

Compare this to the starters at the end of last year which lost every which way till Wednesday:

    Claver
    Hickson
    Leonard
    Barton
    Lillard

    Talk about an upgrade.

Remove the 'almost' healthy in the OP. They are healthy (outside of a first rounder who wouldn't see minutes).
