I seen this game and stayed away...lots of home cooking going down..but on the other hand, I thought I had it bad. And I was posting winners. then my winners got turned into fake tickets.

Bottom line is, Your dealing with a bunch of sick fuc.ks. half these cats are cocked out or on the Hiesenberg. At least your grammar and spelling are up to par. lol

In the end, the trade actually hurt me. It opened up the floor and took out the slow moving parts (Gortat in particular) making their two guard set (which was rated as a foolish for bringing in a guy who can be a PG when you already have a PG and I couldn't agree more) work at high intensity, much more than the Blazers could handle.

Let me give you some perspective on how bad the Blazers played:

Miles Plumlee who is a third string center/12th man at best on any team, had 18 pts and 15 rebounds.

How bad is that for me?

He scored 15 points ALL OF LAST YEAR. He had 16 points and ten rebounds....at halftime. Listen if you want to put your money on Miles Plumlee, talk to me at the end of the year. You'll have nothing left. But of course, a guy who had a career high at DUKE of 19!, had the game of his life in either the NBA or college at the half. What is the probability of that? Less than ,1% IMO. You wanna put your money on that? Of course not. No one did yet Suns backers got the benefit of this D-Leaguer having the game of his life. That's some pretty sweet luck right there. As in 1000-1 luck, or worse.

But this was more than Miles Plumlee. Lillard and Aldridge did everything as expected and the rest of the Blazers did NOTHING. And Robin Lopez draws my ire in particular. Dorell wright? Nothing. Batum back from injury? No scoring. The bench? Nothing including Thomas Robinson. And there are guys here saying the Blazers made NO significant offseason moves. Not sure how thick that Doobey is that's in their mouth but I'd say 'pretty thick'.

I can chase tonight and risk losing everything which means deposit time or claw my way back.

And if I claw, I still feel like the girl in the bottom of the pit in the silence of the lambs 'put the lotion in the basket' scene.

To all the posters above who support write-ups and perspective even if they ultimately fail to cash, you have a head start in life, thanks. And of course an apology is owed to all those who tailed, which makes this loss much worse for me.

And to guys like Shango and the rest of you lowlifes who didn't offer a single solid reason to back the Suns, what exactly do you contribute to the forum? Nothing. You do not offer write-ups because you are unwilling and worse, incapable of producing one for any game in any sport. Every write-up does not win.

Yet you hope people that do contribute, that do intense research for a game off the grid others couldn't possibly do because they focus on other games/sports, lose. Or you come in hours after the game has ended to bash away. Why? Your self-worth is smaller than the crumb that church mouse just grabbed by your corn-laden foot.

That means I may have lost half my bankroll but you guys, are losers in life... and thereafter.

You aren't interested in hearing any reasons why any play you make could possibly be wrong, that is the biggest issue I have with you.  I understand that you had already made up your mind on the game but you are very dismissive to anyone who disagrees and usually make it personal.

Your last statement says a lot about you.

I always enjoy reading your write up, you seem to be passionate in what you set out to do, betting wise.

I couldn't agree with you on this one, in detail you've exploited the Suns weakness and put the Blazer's on a pedestal.

Not saying that I'd pick the Suns but a game I have no interest in.

Risking half your bankroll on this game made me cringe, yet taking a chance in what you feel is right, I like that, that's what makes the difference...in life.

You backed yourself and had the balls to do it.

If you believe the pick was right but didn't go to plan, tell yourself would you do it the same all over again if you had the chance?

If yes, it was the right pick, no need to argue with the haters that tell you otherwise after the result.

You tell yourself if this game was played like a series in Phoenix, seven games in Phoenix, who would come out winners. I think we both know the answer, first game of the season, just wasn't the right time.

Keep doing what you do, like I said, I enjoy reading your write ups whether I agree or not.

It's always encouraging to see someone passionate about their betting, win or lose. We're all here to beat the books and not each other.

@hutch- and what do you have to say to people who shi! on those who scout not one but two teams, the entire offseason then take an hour to put it in writing, then revisit the thread 7 dozen times to respond to EVERY comment?

Have a nice day? No thanks. I'm gonna lay into them, and rightfully so.

@ben - I answered every counterpoint in this thread before the game. To me, they were very weak counterpoints given my OP of evidence.

I didn't say it was a lock and the one thing that made me nervous was that they could come out cold given it was opening night on the road vs. a run and gun team that could snatch an early lead and not look back.

That is the ONE scenario that gave me pause. No one offered such a point but it is an obvious one anyhow.

Couple that will Miles Plumlee and his 1000-1 career night and it adds up to a loss.

I will say now the guy in this thread who said the Spurs were a better spot is right.

I will be on that game but likely won't post it.
It is the right spot as home dogs (at least i hope they will be home dogs) even if the Blazers win in Denver and if they lose in Denver, even better.

So there, I gave some credit to an opposing view.

@wicked- thanks. At least you recognize the time and effort it takes to scout an obscure game and then offer analysis on it in addition to your time.

@doitlikeaboss - I'm glad you faded me and made out.

I encourage more to do so if they disagree.

As I said throughout the thread, I agree the 5.5 was a joke and I'm glad you took that as more of a warning sign than I did.

And some other teams that didn't show up when they should have after a debacle to end last season for both:

    FU NETS
    FU GRIZZLIES

Even the Wizards lost big in Gortat's debut.

Where is the pride!!!????? Where the hell is the personal pride?!??!

    Of course I realize it.

I aggressively defend my stance if flimsy opinions are offered. There was no good reason to take this team after the trade given the circumstances after when it was at 3.

The only reason to take them at 5.5 was to middle (which mad suggested) or fade the public. Fading the public can be good. But blindly doing so will make you end up where the square bettor is, with $0. If you read the thread, no one offered anything truly substantive to take the Suns and I said so.

Well, at least you tried. I guess people fail to realize "half my bankroll" will not cripple you.

    For you haters out there

NEVER BET MONEY YOU CANNOT LOSE FINANCIALLY OR EMOTIONALLY.

You cannot make a bet, lose, and wonder about the rent. A car payment. Insurance on the car. Dinner with your girl. NOTHING!

It is not supposed to matter! This is supposed to be "extra" money that you are trying to build up through clever wagering, right?

I don't always agree with Scal on some subjects, but we're supposed to be bettors here, and I'll take a gaming write-up over a You Tube clip or a dining recipe any day.

He offered an opinion, your mileage may very.

We're supposed to be bettors, but I guess we can't get better......

... and stuff like last night is the reason why. I've learned this lesson the hard way over the course of many years. I liked the play yesterday Scal (took them myself) but I've learned in the regular season NBA, you REALLY have to be careful with money management or things can go south really quick.

Good luck the rest of the year Scal

Exactly right on betting what you can afford to lose (and yes, i could afford to lose this amount) which is why I don't understand people taking shots at my modest bankroll amount.

If a guy bets two dollars on a game but offers an informed stance, who cares how much HE bets? Touts typically bet NOTHING on games and they take YOUR money before the game. Yet people pay THEM for advice. My advice is free. Fade it if you don't like it.

I try to tell myself the same thing about the NBA regular season but am convinced players will show up and perform far beyond the result.

Regular season NFL is MUCH reliable in this regard but has much sharper lines to deal with.

Good luck? Thx. I'll need it now.

Scal,  I think you have a strong case to blame your loss on racism.
The suns have more white players so they got all the calls.

The game could not be laid out more perfectly from top to bottom and then the Gortat trade came which couldn't have set the table better and was really the impetus for the bet size.

Not sure why they have a head start in life, reading drivel that ultimately wound up to be a work of fiction. All write ups are self fulfilling prophecies. Reading a writeup is great, but most involve well know info....stats,personnel,records,etc , so unless you have inside info it doesnt mean much.

FYI: Most of the hate you get isnt from your bball picks, its from your racism you spread in the general forum etc. Intersting how whitey (Miles Plumlee) did you in last night....

Nothing.
