Redskids score a TD late 3rd q to make the score 23-13 PAT pending. They opt to kick it leaving them down 9 points, as opposed to going for 2 to make it a one score game.

Caleb Williams and Bo Nix

This always happens. Their futures are still up in the air, but history is not on their side unless your name is Aaron Rodgers, Carson Palmer or Andrew Luck.

I was dumb enough to bet on Nix today. Still plenty of game left I guess

 Definitely not a bust. Not elite either. But looks like he'll be handing off more than passing in Greg Roman's offense.

Not suggesting Bengals took Pats lightly while eyeballing KC next week but by the time that game is over we should have a pretty good insight about their make up even this early.

What was your opinion of Dan Quinn when he was with Dallas?

I get where you're coming from, but his record breaking stats will say otherwise. I think there's a good shot he can get there. He was Stroud before Stroud was/is... well, Stroud. Still, football historians will only remember those who win games. That's why it's a shame his defense and a missing run game has let him down during the Staley years.

Burrows, with slightly inferior stats, still has the stigma of being a better QB, and that is by and large because of his defense. He also has a true #1 WR to throw to. Winning games masks deficiencies and/or elevates a QBs game. You saw what Burrow is like without a run game and the same defense he had the year his D carried his team to the playoffs, with today's game. (Don't take this as me stating he's not at a lower level than Herbert.)

Re: Herbert/Dolphins -- Can you imagine Herbert with McDaniel calling plays and connecting with Tyreek on deep passes? No more underthrown balls to him.

I don't care if Herbert hands the ball off more than he throws. I can't remember a Charger running back rushing for more than 100 yards, like Dobbins did today against the Raiders. (135)  I'm not talking about Ekeler's all-purpose yards, either. I'm all in on the pounding the rock philosophy. At least until we can get Herbert that field spacer he's been missing. (It was supposed to be Chark this year, but he's starting the season on IR.)

Don't give up on Caleb just yet. Remember Love's slow start last year. (And Love had a season or two behind Rodgers to gain experience from.)

He's got the coaching. He's got the running game. Looks like he has the solid run defense. A lot of stuff he was missing when he started off with Anthony Lynn and ended with Brandon Staley.

As cake said, he was a great DC, but the defense was completely and totally unprepared for the playoff game.

They got out-coached worse than they got outplayed.

I was not upset he did not return. I thought McCarthy should have been fired as well

David Montgomery Anytime TD -135

I expect Ben Johnson to continuously be able to stretch the field with St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and La Porta. At least to be able to get them in the red zone. Without Donalds clogging the middle, I can see Montgomery getting goal line opportunities in this game and being able to punch it in.

You might be able to shop around for a better line, but I have some winnings to use in the book that has it at -135.

After the beating he took today Deshaun Watson is going to be very sore.

He probably needs a massage

 Fair enough, Herbert is very good.

The point I was trying to make is that qb's coming out of the pac12 have historically not succeeded in the nfl.

For every Justin Herbert there are 12 other busts from that conference. I'll take a gander at the list later when I'm not driving. 

Anyways, this will be a thing of the past as 3/4's of the pac12 teams have bailed on that conference.

 Yea Quinn may be the type of coach that can only cut it as a coordinator. We'll see.
