    YTD 21-8

    NBL: 9-4
    WNBL: 12-4

Ok so I wish I played that under now in the Boomers vs Dandenong WNBL game. Absolute slug fest and the injuries are just doing no good at all for Melbourne. On another note, the Spirit have lost Griffin for the season apparently and that is a HUGE loss. They have a very tough schedule this weekend playing both the Flames and then the Fire.

The NBL has a few teams needing wins and the big game IMHO in regards to that is Brisbane vs Cairns in Brisbane on Sunday. Both teams struggling and need a win badly. Taipans play Melbourne in Cairns on Friday night so that is a tough ask. It feels as though Brisbane has been at home for a very long time and in fact they have, they haven't left Brisbane since playing playing on the road 22nd October. They have enjoyed 3 straight home games going just 1-2 S/U in those games and seeing that the Taipans are coming off a big Friday night game vs Melbourne, this is my first lean of the weekend but its 6 days away and I don't like grabbing lines that far in advanced because of possible injuries etc. Will see where that line heads but Brisbane is my first lean.

Plenty of time to research everyone.. GL this week

NZ Breakers @ Perth Wildcats: Perth -5.5

First play of the weekend and this game is being played on Suday. The Breakers will have to fly almost 9 hours across the Tasman and Australia to Perth. Perth will have to do the same thing as these 2 teams play each other on Thurday in NZ but the issue for me is that NZ just came back from Cairns last weekend.I don't know if their imports are ready for such a lot of flying in the space of 1 week and may not be used to it just yet.  Also, Matt Knight has announced his retirement this weekend so I expect a big crowd and also a big game from the Wildcats.

Desperate times for the Taipans Kriscar. Melbourne have done nothing on the road to impress me since they got one of their key players back (Goulding). They did well to win both games in Adelaide before he came back but since he came back, they haven't done much on the road. The line is short but I just cant take it for some reason. Waiting for the total to come out, if its low enough I will play the over..

Interesting round with top of the table Breakers v Perth double header. Wildcats are 0-7 in NZ and hope to overcome the time zone difference by arriving in NZ 20 hours before tip-off.

    https://thewest.com.au/sport/basketball/perth-wildcats-take-smash-and-grab-approach-to-new-zealand-trip-ng-b88652728z

    I've already played United -1.5 @ Cairns
This is the type of game that United needs to win if they are to live up to the hype of being the NBL super team. Cairns have a few key players struggling offensively which makes the team very one dimensional, Cam Gliddon and Scoochie Smith. Carrera is an all out hustle player but is foul prone.

United's offense looks to have turned the corner and if they can bring this form on the road, should be too good for Cairns.

On another note, it seems like Sobey is on the outer with coach Joey Wright again after his benching against United last round.

Very good points D-Play... You are right, the offensive game of the Taipans is a mess and they just don't have those certain "go to men" when needed. Trice was a big loss for them over this off-season.

    This is HUGE news!!!

It looks as though the Sydney Kings have signed last season's MVP Jerome Randle and will let Leslie go.

Very good points D-Play... You are right, the offensive game of the Taipans is a mess and they just don't have those certain "go to men" when needed. Trice was a big loss for them over this off-season.

Melbourne United @ Cairns Taipans: Over 163

The last meeting was a blowout, 87-65 win for Melbourne but its a known fact that Cairns are horrible on the road for the past few seasons. The reason why I like this play tonight is that Melbourne's coach, Dean Vickerman has asked his players to play at a fast tempo because he doesn't want to get suffocated into the Taipans slow, zone game. I expect Melbourne to be jacking up shots well before the shot clock expires and seeing that the last total only hit 152 yet the books have only adjusted their lines by 1-2 points (last game total was 165) I think we see a high scoring game tonight.

Sydney Uni Flames @ Bendigo Spirit: Under 150.5

Well the loss of Kelsey Griffin is massive for Bendigo. Leading scorer and only 2 players are in double digits this season for the Spirit. With her out, it leaves a massive gap in both points and assists. The Flames had an "over" game last weekend vs Canberra but I expect them to lock down on defense and really take this game. I saw the line last night at -3.5 and liked it but waited a bit and now I waited too long as the line is up to -7.5 which is a little too high for a backdoor cover so I am playing the under as for this game to go over, Sydney would have to put up big points as I don't see Bendigo putting up a big number. Sydney has allowed just 72, 62, 68, 56, 66 and 65 in their last 6 games. They are rolling big on Defense and I just can't see how Bendigo are going to score many points for this game to go over.

Hey Aussie, I know you don't have an official play on the NZ/Perth game, but do you have any thoughts on it or a lean?

I was leaning that way as well but decided to just take the ML and parlay it with United. Appreciate the reply.

Well this total in the WNBL is well and truly dead.. 56 points in the 1Q. Sums up betting some times, Bendigo missing their leading scorer but they drop 26 in 10 mins in the 1Q... Moving on to the NBL game now..

Well not the nicest start to the weekend.. the NBL never amazes me.. The most star studded line-up against the most awkward offense the NBL has seen in a long time gets blown out.. I should have played the spreads rather than the totals. Lesson learnt... Goulding only took 3 shots in 3 quarters? Something is not right with that.. This team is a mess, a bit like OKC right now where they have too many guys wanting to shoot the ball and not enough guys doing the easy things of basketball.

    Tomorrow is a new day...

definitely Brisbane.. Going to be one of my plays this weekend mate after Cairns beat Melbourne last night. Brisbane have done nothing at home this season after their 4 game homestand which has lasted almost a month. They need a win before hitting the road and Cairns have been poor on the road for a long long time.

Randle hasn't met up with the team yet but Tyler is available for limited minutes but still they are unbackable especially with Leslie now gone. Complete shake up and Melbourne may come out swinging. Both teams very ordinary this season and both unbackable right now. Looking at the earlier game.
