NBL and WNBL Week #3

NBL: 4-0
WNBL 4-1
Total 8-1
Now the biggest talking point all week here in Oz is the fact that Lisch is now out for up to 8 weeks for the Sydney Kings. Massive loss for them but IMHO they have enough weapons to help them out over that period of time, its just their schedule for the next few weeks is brutal. Also, Prather for Melbourne cleared of any serious injury and he might play this weekend along with Goulding making his season debut. Brisbane coming home after that Phoenix Suns game are about to embark on 4 games in 8 nights which is big for the NBL. Fortunately for them, 3 of those games are at home so they could do ok during this time.Lines are out for the NBL and the first 2 games are almost a PK. Not sure how the Kings will go without Lisch and also not sure how Brisbane goes after a short turn around.
Not going to force any plays just for the sake of it.. Will only post the plays I like..
BOL this week..

Crazy when you think Perth were laying -4.5 just 2 weeks ago to the Champs (Sydney) and now they are +6.5 to Bendigo at home. They got punished last weekend by the Spirit losing by 35 points but they aren't a good road team. They are 0-9 S/U against teams that are 500+ on the season and haven't beaten a decent team on the road since November last season (beat Townsville). Their home form is a lot better and I expect them to be fired up after that embarrassment last weekend.

Now as for the Sydney Kings @ NZ Breakers game, I am leaning the under right now but hoping for some higher totals. I think the total may rise a bit before tip-off. I am seeing 172.5-173.5 with the various books I use but I think it will climb. Will wait it out to see where it goes..

Love this play tonight. The Flames coming off an awful offensive game vs the Rangers and the Fire were awful in the 1H last week vs the Capitals. Both teams have good 3 point shooters as well as good inside big girls. The revenge factor will be huge tonight as Sydney sweep away the Fire last season in the semi-finals but I cannot fade Sydney as +5.5 dogs. Instead, I will take the over as last season during the reg season these 2 teams hit game totals of 151, 150, 152 (and then OT) and 137. Now that doesn't sound convincing when you see those totals because not many of them exactly flew over the total we have been given today but the Flames on the road this season so far have given up 80+ both times so far against the Lynx and the Lightning who IMHO don't have a strong line-up compared to the Fire and seeing that the Fire are coming off 2 games where they haven't hit 80+ yet, I think they can tonight and we also see the Flames put up a big total.

Would lean the other way. Line was -2.5 last weekend for a bit, NZ won that game and now the line is +1.5 in this new match-up because they lost Kevin Lisch but I think the Kings can win without him I am just not 100% confident though so not worth risking the play.

Huge news, Penney is now OUT for the game tonight and this counter balances the Lisch injury. Penney was gold the other night hitting 25 points against the Kings but with him being out, their bench will be thin and I think the Kings can take advantage of that now. Lisch hasn't been productive and I think they have the players to win this game seeing that Penney is now out.

No idea Shinvash. The schedule is just crazy right now and I don't understand it either mate. Melbourne's first 2 games were both on the road in Adelaide which doesnt make any sense either.

Yeah terrible play in the end and the nbl website said that Penney was out tonight but in fact he played
the kings are in all sorts of trouble and we are only in week three

Not the results I wanted tonight but will finish at 1-2 thanks to the Fire/Flames shooting horribly and the Kings not turning up..
Onto tomorrow's game possibly which is the Brisbane Bullets vs Cairns Taipans.

Very hard games tonight Kriscar. Perth/Melbourne are both well rested and Melbourne hit the road again for their 3rd straight game where Perth have been sitting in Perth for sometime now enjoying life at home.
The other game is tough and I don't think I will touch it because its 2 teams that are very hard to read mate. Cairns can score when they want but then sometimes they don't score points for 2-3 mins. Brisbane have a new look squad and only played 1 game so hard to see where they are at right now.
