They let go of Gabby Espinas for Noy Baclao last conference and barely doing any changes after their 6th place exit. They are also in 6th place in my power ranking only and could climb up given the time off the tourney to recuperate and heal up their banged up squad. They will be parading Romeo Travis listed at 6'7" but somehow passing the height requirement for the PBA (should come out listed as 6'5 3/4").
Romeo Travis is an average athlete at best. Average vertical leap for a Forward who'll be asked to play mostly the 4th spot for the Aces. Looks unmotivated at times but could grab the occasional rebounds. He isn't a physical player which is demanded from Imports playing the Philippines. He's more of a jump shooting big that moves well without the ball and could easily find open spots. He isn't the best import in the conference but I believe he is a perfect for the Aces.
Good basketball IQ who can fit well in the Aces' system. Think of him as a watered down version of Denzel Bowles. He'd be shooting more from the 15-19 feet range than driving the lane. You could make him a Rob Dozier type of player who looks unmotivated but will give you results on the offensive end.

Alaska Aces (Romeo Travis 6'7")

Blackwater is terribly in need of scoring and rebounding as they are ranked last in both stat from last conference.

Black Water Elite (Marcus Douthit 6'11")

Meralco Bolts (Asian Import: Benny Koochoie 6'3")(Import: Andre Emmett 6'5")
The Bolts ranked 5th in my power ranking and could easily steal 3rd or 4th depending on how their Asian Import experiment goes. I think Jared Dilinger who was sidelined due to his left knee will be ready for the opener. They placed 4th last conference sweeping NLEX 2-0 in the quarters only to be swept by ROS in the semis. They will be at full strength come game day with only Dilinger's left knee not at 100%.
Meralco opted for an Asian Import in Iran's Benny Koochoie. A playmaker who will remind you of a young Mike Cortez with a deadly 3 point shot. He should be used to the physicality of the sport. With a decent build he can stretch to playing up to the 3 spot if needed. Not the fastest guy with the ball but more than makes up for his good passing, defense and ability to make plays. I believe he'll be used alongside Dilinger and David which will definitely open up the paint and cause trouble with their size. Think of him as a taller Jimmy Alapag.
Andre Emmett is their other import. He's a D-League MVP who is a natural scorer. He could score from anywhere and he doesn't shy away from contact. Think of him as a poor man's Carmelo Anthony minus the signature step back.
I don't see the fit here for Emmett and the Bolts. Last conference, they were amazing with Josh Davis. The reason for their success is that Davis addressed their lack of quality in their front court. Emmett isn't a game changer defensively but will more than make up on the other end of the court. If this is any indication, i think Meralco Bolts is shifting to a much more fast paced game similar to that of TNT or ROS' game.

Global Port Batang Pier looks to be a very promising team this conference with their addition of an Asian Import and a 7-0" Bryant. They barely saw any changes during the break and should still see a whole lot of Pringle and Romeo in offense. Pido Jarencio is returning for another stint at the helm of the Batang Pier and will look to find that elusive PBA win for himself as a coach.
Omar Krayem is a Palestine playmaker who stands 6'3". He very quick and boast of a killer first step. He has crazy handles which allows him to get into the lane easy. His game resembles that of what Kevin Alas would be in his prime sprinkled with a little of the now-Stanley Pringles. He is a pass first point guard which is what the Batang Pier needs.
Globalport is dead last in assists per game which isn't a surprise considering how many 1-on-1 plays they run for Romeo and Pringle.
The second import which makes this Global Port team scary is a 7-0" reinforcement in Patrick O'Bryant. O'Bryant is a back to the basket big who can dish out the assist or make plays on his own. He can stretch his range up to 20 ft and could occasionally hit 3-pointers (but why would he?). Think of him as a poor man's older Tim Duncan minus the signature bank shot. He can rebound and block shots and is not afraid to mix it up. He is long and uses his size very well.

Key here is chemistry and how Travis will respond to the type of play in the PBA. Marcus Douthit look exceptionally well in the shootaround of BWE last time out and is looking 100% healthy for this conference. I think they make this close and get the cover.
