And now I remember why I don't bet many totals.

YTD: +15.00


Ottawa ML +110 (2 units)

The Sens aren't good enough to hang with the likes of the Bruins but before that they won 6 in a row versus the same type of teams as Montreal. Sure the Habs have won 3 in a row but before that they were terrible. I just don't think they are good enough to be road favorites. The Habs haven't played in nearly a week either, what a buzzkill after winning three in a row.


Colorado ML +110 (2 units)

I bet against Dallas a couple games back and won. I think these guys are playing way over their heads. At the end of the year Colorado will have more points than Dallas. This is a much better spot for Colorado too as they stink as home favs. Now as a road dog they can sneak in and compete.

I have a little question, I would be grateful if you can give me a little insight.
Is it more of an advantage or a disadvantage if you did not play nearly a week like Montreal ?
The battery should be full, but how about the game rhythm ??

Just one for Saturday:

NY Islanders +0.5 (reg) -125 & NY Islanders ML +132

Mostly a play on the Islanders here. I think they are scrappy enough to hang around with big teams. Saturday night at home against a public team should also draw a nice crowd in that sad building so we should finally see a good atmosphere there which should give the home team a boost.

Gl, won't be around much the next week or so.

Haven't had time to bet much the last few days. Like one for Thursday.


Toronto +0.5 (reg) -120 & Toronto ML +140

The Leafs are already +3 units as road dogs this year and although I don't have the numbers from the last couple years it seems like they have done well in this role. Last game was a classic Leafs bedshit spot in an early weeknight game against a team like Florida as a -125 fav. Now out on the road as a dog they should be much more focused.

St. Louis comes off a nice win against Chicago but the Hawks are a tough team and it takes a lot to beat them. So far this year teams are 2-3 after beating Chicago but all three losses have been by at least two goals and both wins needed the shootout. If I get a +140 dog to the shootout I've made a great bet.

Just have a feeling they are worth a small shot here as the Nucks are home off a long road trip playing at an irregular time and on an irregular day. They may be a little off early.

The Ducks have really been playing like shit lately but the Kings haven't been all that much better. These rivals usually play low scoring grinders which is a positive for the dog. This is the first of a home and home and i don't see the Kings sweeping. I will take the Ducks as a nice road dog as opposed to a home fav.

Really ? They've scored more goals in their last 3 games (W2 L1) than in their previous 5 games combined. This is a team that's just starting to kick into offensive gear (the D has been there all along) and this line of -160 in what on paper looks like a coinflip, says it all. I'm looking for a Kings blowout tonite, which may be followed by the Ducks manning up and winning at home.

I'm not sure the D has been there all along. It was great earlier in the year but their last game against the explosive Wild offense was the first time in 9 games they didn't give up 3 goals.

Not sure what you are seeing with the line. This game does not look like a coinflip at all, if it did this forum would be all over the Ducks and right now they are the least popular play side on the card tonight and by a wide margin. Everyone likes the Hawks, Canes and Devils but not so much the Ducks. Maybe the line against Minnesota last game said something being -160 against a team that had won 5 of 6, but this line is actually shorter and against a team that has lost 7 of 8 and 10 of 12.

Couple for Thursday, too much juice to take the reg lines on small dogs less than +120:


Tampa Bay ML +117 (2 units)

Tampa is obviously down quite a bit this season but I think this is still a nice spot for them. They are back at home in one of the few places in the league where home ice advantage actually means something, they were great here last season and are 5-1 this year. Tampa just laid a total egg on their two game road trip getting outscored 10-2 and they probably faced more questions about the 1-3-1 than their actual play. Back at home where they excel I look for them to be focused and ready to go against a team they know they will have no margin of error against or they will go down again.


Colorado ML +115 (2 units)

Tough spot for the Wild here after just one day off coming back from a 5 game road trip where they flew west, then east, then back to Minny. The Wild are also losing defensemen by the day as Zidlicky got hurt in their last game and he'll be out tonight. Colorado should have the fresher legs and will be the healthier team here. I think they play well after getting smacked around in a Versus game last time out. They have struggled to keep the puck out of their own net but the Wild's offense is less than explosive and they have only scored more then 2 goals twice in 8 home games this year.

Committing the Cardinal Sin here and getting the worst of the number so I probably deserve to lose. I'm surprised the number has come down this much though but it will probably go back up before puck drop. Just a play against Chicago here as they have been rolling up some monster scores and off a big road beating of their biggest rival I think this spot screams letdown against a bad Flames team that the Hawks just trucked last week.

Gauntlet game here. I just think this is a real tough spot for the Leafs after leaving it all on the ice last night in a big national TV blowout. Now they've had to board a plane and fly south to play another game about 20 hours after last night's ended. On top of that they are an injury-riddled mess right now and I think the fumes they were running on last night evaporate.

This is a tough spot for any team but the fact they are playing a Canes team that is desperate for a win and is a big step down in class from Washington I can't help but see this as a letdown game either.

Great call on the Canes- keep up the good work on the ice.

Haha my skates don't seem to be sharp enough on the ice as I'm like -24 units on the year while your cleats don't seem to have the right traction on the gridiron.

Keep plugging away man you are capping both sports well just getting some ridiculous breaks (ex. Adrian Peterson injury).  The bounces will come your way.

Nice year in the NFL buddy you've been cleaning up. Tough break (no pun intended) on that Cutler injury. Hopefully Hanie gets em to the playoffs.

Pittsburgh Team Total OVER 3 -135 (2 units)

Going to tempt fate and play another total. This is my way of getting around laying the -220 on Pittsburgh as if they win this game they'll probably have to score at least 3 goals to do so.

Crosby is back tonight and it should give the whole team a boost and the rink should be absolutely jumping tonight, certainly there will be much more energy than a typical Monday Night game against a team as bad as the Islanders. On top of that Pittsburgh has lost two in a row and need a boost. I think these guys are going to be skating and playing with energy tonight and that usually leads to goals.

The Islanders are throwing a rookie in net tonight and sometimes a new goalie is what a team needs but the Islanders problem is their defensemen are just awful. These guys are allowing 37.5 shots per game on the road and face a Pens team that fires 33 on net a game. NY has allowed 4, 4, 3, 6, 4, and 4 goals on the road this year. Crosby gets a couple points tonight.
