Jon Cooper post game press conference

Anyone see his post game press conference?

He basically said the final goal shouldn't have counted and they should still be playing ring now. Said he will reveal more info tomorrow.

What could he be talking about? 

Missed too many men on the ice call, he thinks. I've seen the images and I'm not sure I agree. I wonder if he's going to try to use this as ammo for the next game to rile his troops up. 

It wouldn't have mattered. Tampa was on seriously tired legs while COL looked like they snorted some crystal meth at intermission.

Agree 100% colt.  Bolts were hanging on by a thread in OT. Thoroughly outplayed. They played a ton of hockey last 3 years and midway through 2nd period they look like they had emptied gas tank. Hopefully Avalanche keeps foot on gas and game 6 should result in a 6-2 win. 

Wouldn’t even be talking about this had there not been a goal, but the way it is today everything is under a microscope. Kadri jumps on the ice, he’s able to break to the center of the ice to get that pass while mac is like 35-40 feet from the bench.  

Not sure why the islanders game from 2021 is in play here lol. That’s clearly too many men and a missed call.

 If you're the coach and you feel there's a missed call, you would do the exact same thing, your team has to respect you so you better go to battle for them, even if your wrong. If you don't, you'll have lost your team and will be looking for a new job. Coops a great coach, he has nothing to prove to anyone. But as I said before, by OT, they were done.

Vince never felt blaming refs was needed so why should Cooper 

focus on a game plan for Denver not reviewing every millisecond of tape for blown calls

and if you do be careful there were plenty of penalties in period 3 by Tampa (Avs too) that went ignored

 Not arguing, the Bolts weren't going to win, obvious they were done, they couldn't have got their dix hard for their ol ladies. I'm just saying as the coach, right or wrong, you fight for your team, or you lose respect with them. 

I've seen countless coaches, all Sports, sticking up for their team or their players knowing dam good and well they were wrong. Get kicked out of the game in the process. It's an unwritten rule in sports, you always fight for your team, whether it's a bad call or not. It's like getting in a fight in a bar. My best friend got me into a few bar room brawls because he ran his mouth. But he's my boy, never leave my people hanging, we fought and fought again. Pretty sure we're famous at Duke University for beating up a couple loudmouth Duke Students who my buddy just couldn't walk away from. But I digress, you understand, stick together, military thing too, doesn't matter, right or wrong.

You know it’s a bad one when the initial scoresheet has a ‘plus’ for 6 Avs players on that goal as there was nobody remotely close to getting off the ice for kadri

 Definitely a missed call but there were others too and just wasn't in the cards for Tampa. They looked like Rocky in the 15th round against Apollo Creed. And I'm a big Lightning fan.  Endurance and stamina are part of the game and Colorado was the only team on the ice with any left.

I agree Cooper should stick up for his team but definitely in a different way than he did it last night. Nobody likes losing but this isn't the first time in these playoffs he has completely embarrassed himself. I work with a ton of hockey fans and I never heard one good word about Cooper after that performance.

 Oh I agree with you. It was likely only a matter of time. TB has played an additional season, lost a full line, then point plus kuch and Cirelli and others beat up. Not a TB fan at all but the run they’re and honestly going through Toronto, NY and florida this year is insanely impressive. The west is a complete laughing stock outside of the Avs this season.

This time of the year all teams have players go down. Next man up. Av’s have girard out, kadri and cogliano missed time and playing with broken thumbs and burokovsky out. Tampa played ton of hockey last 3 years and are gassed.

Yes. Especially in this instance. 

It was too many men. It didn’t get called, the Avs caught a break and won the game which they probably would have anyway with the pressure they were putting on. Point remains though they got away with one in game 4 and there’s really no argument to be made

Why is it that when anyone posts something you don’t agree with it’s “crying?” I could not care any less who wins this series, I had a NYR ticket for full transparency. Truthfully think cooper is an arrogant b*tch, but you have to respect what he’s accomplished.  He’s going to be a HOF’er and one of the games best coaches when it’s all said and done.  Your statement literally supports what I’m saying…. There’s a 0% chance Kadri even gets a scoring chance had he not jumped on the ice while the player coming off is still 30+ feet away.  I get that Avs fans want to say “no we won because we’re better,” but like nobody is going to argue that the Avs weren’t way better the entire 2nd half of game 5.  It’s ok to say heck yeah we caught a break and took advantage of it.  Covers is a special special place
