Fact: That was Bostons best game. They play like that when they are at their best. We saw it vs Tampa in game 7. We saw it before that. That fact they still lost even when Thomas was ridiculous is very bad for Boston. Especially since they have not repeated these great defensive preformences. Boston you are in trouble. You can';t beat Vancouver with YOUR style an YOUR type of game, an your best game.

Sure as Hell looked like the Bruins competed in this game.

I would'nt still be so cocky because Van barely pulled a game out of their ass on a contraversial play with 19 seconds to go in game one.

Maybe you're getting fact and opinion confused. It's a common mistake.

Thomas must be that good every game for the Bruins to have a chance at winning. Odds are Nucks won't go 0-5 on the PP again. You can say the Bruins didn't play their best, but Vancouver didn't either. Vancouver's lack of discipline killed their momentum early in the game.

All this talk about Boston being such a great 5 on 5 team..what happened in the third?

The Bruins can hang with Vancouver, no doubt about that but imo, Nucks can be better as well. Only player that cannot on Vancouver is Luongo. The good thing for him is that he doesn't have to be spectacular for the Nucks to win.

Can Thomas really be better? You have to think Boston's PP will screw them over at some point. Boston has not played a team comparable to the Nucks so far these playoffs. The speed and physical style worse the Bruins down in the 3rd. Aside from Chara and Seidenberg, the B's defense was a mess.

Thomas has now only given up 2 goals vs Vancouver in 4 games. That is very impressive. Maybe he does have their number.

Was the Nucks PP that bad tonight or have the Bruins made proper adjustments to know the tendencies of Vancouver on the PP?

Like many of us have said, Thomas and special teams are the two main things that will decide if this is a long or short series and whether or not the Bruins can defeat the Canucks.

yes i agree with escape. he has money on the nucks so why should he be pro boston?
boston was outskated. van's 3rd line dominated!
boychuk showed his true colors after playing 2 good periods- the inevitable was the fate of the bruins
    ference was terrible
van forced turnovers esp that 3rd line.
    bos pp is still peepee.

bos did hit and they had a few chances esp on pp
    van played better 5-5
van dominated 3p when it was 5-5!

Really because this is what i saw. Boston had several power plays in t he first. Didnt score. Had a 5 on 3. didnt score. They have a 7% power play. Boston had 36 shots. how many were quality scoring chances.  maybe 2? Luongo hardly had to make a  tough save or a second save all night. Vancouver had 34 shot with about 10 quality chances that Thomas was up  to the task. He was great. Vancouver had 2 breakaways, 2 posts, 2 tip in good saves by Thomas, justfor starters . Boston held Vancouvers power play to an 0-6. Boston played their defensive winning hockey, an still lost. So Boston can't even score on 5 on 3's an forget the 5 on 4's,  an Vancouver is better 5 on 5, just watch the 3rd. Total Nuck domination.  Vancouver has got off to slow starts the last 3 game 1's now  anyway. Nashville 1-0. Similar game though. 3-2 vs the  Sharks where they had to make a 3rd period comeback, an  here where Boston had a decent 1st period serge aided by power plays an stil came up pretty short. Vancouver only gets better now. Boston is in trouble. When Boston loses Saturday  will  you still like their chances.

Fact when  Vancouvers 3rd line plays the  best hockey for them  an they still win ,isn';t good for Boston.  Fact: The B's power play is historically bad. You have to beat Vancouver 5on5 an stop their power play! thats a tough one.
Factt: that is  how Boston wants to play. That was their best game. Low scoring, grinding games. Thats Bostons key to  winning in these playoffs. Reference Tamap series games 3, 5, 7. Now this game. But they still lost.
Fact: The depth of the  Canucks D is a big mismatch over this Boston offense. They have no  room, no speed to g et to pucks,  an no good quality cahnces.
Fact: You dont care about this series meaning you dont know anything about it.

i watched the games,  the bruins easily  could be up 2-0 , thats the way hockey is sometimes its a free flowing game with the puck going in all directions , luck was with the canucks in that respect .

the bruins came very close to getting up 3-1 in saturdays game . home team is expected to win their home games , bruins capable winning next 2 ,

this thing is  far from over .

This thing  is over for all the reasons  I mentioned in post #1. Bostons home ice isn't going to make their lack of offense disapear. Nucks D is greatly limimting Bostons chances. Nucks power play on the road is 40%. Just because Boston is at home means they will start winnning? No. It's over after Vancouver goes up  3-0  tonight in the series.

Bruins have won 7 out of last 8 playoff games at home , they win tonight . maybe easy.... but a win for sure . and a big game on wednesday ....maybe the bruins dominate both games  here ,  unlike vancover did in their 2 home games . .THAT'S WHY THEY PLAY 7 GAMES .

You maybe right and I don't have a genie bottle on who is going to win, but I have to say this Boston team just looks outclassed. Outside of a bouncing puck and the slider that got under Lu's right pad, this team would have a GOOSE EGG in the first 2 games. Like I said you might be right and they find a way to win the next 2 games at home, but from watching the first 2 it would be hard to put my money on them. On top of that, the oddsmakers might see what ESCAPE sees. They sure dont seem as confident as you. They haven't placed a Boston ML this low at home all year long. Maybe it's to good too be true and you get your "forsure win".  Good luck..

Yes, I had Vancouver winning this game going up 3-0. They lost. I guess I can't go 100% on my bets in the cup now. Look back at  post #1. Vancouver in  5 was the  final call. An I still think the  Nucks had more scoring chances because they did, just a few unfortunate plays early  an great play by Tim  Thomas.

These  Bruins backers make me sick to. You  win 1 game, still down 2-1, you still have a must win game 4, an probably have  to win game 5 to win the series. Your acting like the Bruins are in a good spot here. You won a game great. Everybody expected a Boston split. Tim Thomas has to play this good for the  B's to win. I'l take my chances. Nucks have the lead an upper hand, here comes the over-reaction for this game. hopefully i get  a great + line for game 4.
