Ovi also did not have the supporting cast Crosby had last season... you can't possibly say Ovi shoots too much, this isn't basketball, good things happen when the puck flies toward the net. With Knuble, Semin and Backstrom all having good years, and Theo actually playing decent in net the Caps have a great shot at the Cup this year.

Ovi shoots more, but he also can make the killer pass, and someone hitting in your rebound is just as good as a final pass. This season Alex has 11 more assists than Crosby in 7 less games played. He also leads the league in +/- at +43... Crosby is +9.

I would have to say that they had pretty equal supporting casts no? Or i would say that ove has had better players on his line. Everyone keeps mentioning malkin yet him and crosby are both centers. Most of the time they do not play together. Look at the rotation of wingers crosby has had laetly, not stellar at all (Guerin, Dupuis, Sykora). Ove has Semin and Backstrom. Not saying one is better than the other. I think they are 2 completely different players that cannot be compared aedquately. They are both terrific and both bring a lot of attributes to the table

Ove is dirty. He's a headhunter he thrives off catching guys with their heads down. Most of his hits are legal but they are dirty hits. He is going to end someones career with that shit. He is a great player and fun to watch and im partly bias because im a Pens fan but If i were building a team from scratch id go with Sid over Ove i think he's clearly a better all around player.

The Canadiens looked really strong last night. Russia looked like a team that was just thrown together at the last minute, while Team Canada looked like they had been playing together for years. Malkin had a nightmare game. Ovi just failed to make an impact. Oh well, as long as he keeps up form for the Caps, I could care less about Russia!
