every year when the playoffs come around OR some special event like the Olympics, it seems the "my team rules, your team sucks" crowd has to pile into the NHL Forum. it's one major reason I don't post much anymore.

fine and dandy to support your team BUT this forum, more than any other since Covers has been around going back to when NHL hockey generally had ONE daily thread run by "TheThreeGirls", was about information and opinions designed to WIN MONEY and NOT about high testosterone tough guy pissing contests.

hopefully it will return to that after the Olympics (at least until the playoffs)

btw, weeble's daily goalie thread is THE most single useful tool for handicappers in ANY sports forum

I agree with L8kersFan74. Good post. Everyone else gets bashed, why not Canada ? Especially when they are supposedly the team to beat going in. Double standard. Poor Canada can't be bashed when they suck. Please.

It's about bashing a pitiful performance from an overrated, no heart, gutless team. Putup or shutup.

While I will absolutely respect weeb's post here (and follow the guidelines accordingly), I would also like to say that some of you need maybe a shot or two of testosterone. 

I, personally, have never ONCE bashed somone for making a losing pick.  But I can't just sit back and let somone post pure nonsense and say nothing.  If I think someone is way off base, I'm going to discuss it with him.  Doesn't mean I have to say he sucks, but I'm going to disagree and I'm going to tell him or her why.

I know I can leave whenever I want, but it seems that many in here think a "great" forum is where everyone pats each other on the back and says, "great job" no matter what they say.  What is wrong with some spirited discussion/disagreement if you can keep the "you suck" and related items out of it?

I come here to challenge and be challenged because I think it makes me smarter and it helps me to look at things maybe differently then I would have before.  Not to have someone pat me on the head and say, "that' s very good HutchEmAll.  Now it's quiet time....eat your milk and cookies and put your head down and rest a while along with the other students."
