RICHMOND, Va. -- Michael Vick was sentenced to 23 months in prison Monday for his role in a dogfighting conspiracy.

Federal sentencing guidelines suggested a year to 18 months.

The suspended Atlanta Falcons quarterback also received three years' probation at his sentencing before U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson.

With nearly a month already served, going by Hudson's sentencing, Vick would be scheduled for release in October 2009.

I can see this being a good step for him if he wants it too. Think about 2 years of doing nothing but lifting weights. He comes out at age 29 or 30 as either a running back or a wide receiver.
 
You know damn well someone will take a chance on him.

I HIGHLY doubt it....most of the money went towards his friends, parties, and his brothers bail

are you serious?  this guy killed dogs. lied about it and was found out on a lie detector, he told numerous lies to the FBI, the JUDGE, his PROBATION and now he is caught in all of them.  If he would have been honest from the begining instead of trying to beat the SYSTEM it may be a different story but what he did to the animals was wrong, white black brown green, i think they all would of got the same sentance.
