Steelers just off of their Ravens win at home. They're not going to be up for this game. Peroid.
That said the Jets are without Darrin Walls, their starting CB again this weekend, so it's bizarre the line's stayed down. With cornerbacks they're signing off the street, my concern is Roethlisberger will have success throwing deep
Jets are moving Antonio Allen back to his comfortable role, Safety, after getting consistently burned as a CB

Unlike most of this forum that will bash a pick immediately I can actually have a conversation with you. Good points, but have you taken a look at who the Steelers are playing at safety this weekend? Palamalu is out of the game, so they are starting Will Allen. In case you don't know who that is, he was cut from the Cowboys last season. The Cowboys had the worst defense they've ever had last year. Oh and Steelers are also missing starting CB Ike Taylor still.
And people wonder why this spread is so short

Yeah we seem to have a similar method to this. Cherry pick the games. Tendencies matter. Look for holes.
Polamalu's a big loss, as they are thin at safety.
Ryan Shazier, their athletic 1st round pick, is out. He started the 1st 3 games, got injured, started the last 2 games.
Steelers are not a great team against the run, the Jets strength. The question is, can the Jets stay in the game enough to run the ball. That was the issue with the Chiefs-getting down 7 on the first drive, then 14.
What works in the favor for the Jets is the Steelers don't have a very good offensive line. From what I read the Steelers are poor at left guard with Ramon Foster. Getting to Roethlisberger is going to be key.
And as I said Antonio Allen is being moved back to his comfortable spot at safety.
If the line goes above 4 I'm not touching it. I'm not touching it now. But I'm watching it. I'm in no hurry.

Steelers playing on an unsustainable level, what goes up, must come down. Steelers due a regression, oh it's coming, not a matter of i....f but when, and it's coming soon.

Tomlin and Big Ben have expressed words of high praise about their Oline. Mike Munchak has done a great job and they run block and pass block better now than in many years. Ike Taylor has been out for well over six weeks with a broken forearm so nothing new there. Polamalu has been a shell of his former self all year so no great loss IMO. Troy has been burned when he has gambled and they may even be more solid with Will Allen back there.
The db that has been burned like toast is Cortez Allen. He has been benched for now. Shazier is out again but Sean Spence has filled in admirably for him. It is not as if Shazier was playing like an all pro but he shows promise. I do agree that this is a bad spot for the Steelers as they are on the road and their D can be run on and that secondary can be shredded...the line opened at Pitts-1.5 and was bet up to 4.5 according to vegasinsiders.com! At the books in Mexico the line is 4.5

The Pitt line was -2 on the look ahead line, opened at -3.5 climbed to -5.5 on Wednesday and now dropped to -3.5

You're talking about Cantor, now CG Technology, who had it at -1.5 before the Jets lost by 14, and the Steelers blew out the Ravens.
Offshort, SBR had a similar situation, with the Steelers opening at -2.5 at an online book before the Jets loss and Steelers win.
Agreed about Polamalu no doubt he's lost a step but regarding this particular game, he's a bigger player than Will Allen and probably a better and more consistent run stopper. He's second on the team in combined tackles. That's why I say if the Jets can run the ball and stay in the game, that will be key if they want to win the game. And Vick needs to be able to escape the rush.

From the site I'm looking at, most are on the Steelers. Sharp $ or big $ can move the line in an opposite direction.
Still have until Sunday, as I said I'm not rushing this and making no move until Sunday.
The line dropped from 5.5 to 3.5, so wouldn't that mean money was coming in on Jets. Or if money was on Steelers it would go up from 5.5 to say 6 or 6.5 to get people to bet on the Jets.

Not necessarily. It depends on who's betting, and/or how much.
If it went from 5 to 5.5, I'm skeptical. If it goes from 2.5 to 3, I'm watching.
Also, the fact that it's still early is important. It doesn't take a lot to move the line. That's why I say wait for the line to settle on Sunday.
Somebody tell me if I'm wrong.

Gents, this is the atypical game for situational betting. This is a very bad scheduling spot for the Steelers, especially after their performance from the last 3 weeks. Taking the Jets might need you to hold your nose but these types of games are usually money.
You can also tell tell that the smarties are all over it with the line movement.
Cheers

I dont think Pitt will have a problem with Troy being out ...Will Allen has played very well filling in for Troy and Ryan Clark over the years .He is what you call a solid vet backup..As far as getting up for the game gotta think its been pounded into team this week not to overlook jets and what happened in TB game just few short weeks ago is still fresh in minds. I think BB will continue to air it out as WR Bryant and Brown are huge mismatches for NY..Pitt rolls by 10+
