Achilles, I’m serious with the Pats winning 4 of 5 SB literally on the last play, 1.5/2/2.5 and in some places THREE is insane. That doesn’t even speak to the fact the Rams are the better team!

Bud, while i like the Bellagio book, I am all for the hole in the wall book on the strip with just the locals. It’s like you own the place with them. I’ve actually picked up some great tips on games there. One guy the Gold Coast game me a 7 team MLB parlay that hit. I’m serious!

If early money is on the Patriots, then who's to say late money is coming in on Rams. If public is hammering the patriots now, they will continue to hammer them up until kickoff.

Public doesn't fly in early and bet, but SHARPS waited took the +3 at one spot in Vegas, and they act like they got balanced action yeah right!!,

they are setting up bettors to take as much money on the Patriots and then MAYBE move it the other way if necessary late.

Nobody mentions Red Rocks resort. Nice as hell, huge screen but hard to get a seat sometimes.

It’d be great if scalabrine could keep his mouth shut. Tell enough people and now you’re not making a contrarian play. If money flies in on rams you give the NFL an easy excuse to flip the script. Stop telling the world

Scal, You know I respect your capping immensely. And I'm never one to go against a great capper on a heater, but I disagree with you on this pick because I think the psychological factors favoring NE are too strong. I also don't trust this Rams defense as much as you do. Surely they are no Seattle, or the Eagles for that matter. And I don't think them getting to this stage with the help of the NFL will be any kind of advantage. In fact, I see it as a huge distraction. For once, it's not NE under the microscope in the SB. And for once, NE will be wearing the white cowboy hats, trying to right a wrong committed by the NFL and its lackeys (can you imagine the scrutiny the refs will be under not to show favoritism towards the Rams?). Perhaps nobody is betting on the Rams because nobody thinks they deserve to be here (not even the Rams themselves). And they also believe that come Sunday, justice/karmic retribution will be served.

I love healthy disagreement BB.

Because I usually wade in the capping muck looking for obscure plays, it is unusual for me to cap a Super Bowl.

Ironically, something you said about the OKC Spurs series in 2016 got me thinking about this game, which ultimately lead me to capping the entire game.

It was when I was on the Spurs down 3-2 and took them to win the series and you came in my thread and simply said "They are too old."

It was a minimalist approach (sometimes all you need and ultimately the purest of pure capping) and you were proven correct the following game as OKC destroyed them right out of the gate.

Gronk was 'running' and down the field like Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka when Charlie Bucket first sees him, walking like a cripple with his cane, hitting each cobblestone with a pat, only to do a front somersault to applause.

The problem with Gronk is, he doesn't do the front somersault. He really IS a gimp at this point in his career and it took the worst secondary in the entire NFL to provide him one last hurrah.

McVay will make sure Gronk is neutralized. As well as Edelman. And who's left? A revolving door of RB's who will have to get through Donald and Suh and the rest of the D line.

That's not enough. Even with the Magician behind center (who I definitely don't apply the TOO OLD mantra to).

So what are we left with?

A team stacked from top to bottom that gobbled up all the prize free agents an signed all their stars vs. a Pats team, one year older off a loss to the Eagles last year, desperately trying to play the Bet Against Us Card in a game they are favored in (a psychological quirk that won't pay dividends imo). With the line only rising.

And I get the points? Ok. I will take every single one.

And I like to take an alternate universe angle.

Meaning would I bet the Rams vs. KC? No. Not with revenge and a 54-51 thriller the last time out and a guy who plays QB like Derek Jeter at short in his prime.

Instead I get the Pats and points? Ok. I'll take that in this universe.

You do make a good point about the refs being harder on the Rams after the missed call, a call so bad it even carries over into this game. That is an astute observation.

It’s a redemption game for Brandin Cooks whom NE gave up on.

The tuck rule robbery ignited Pats dynasty in SB vs the Rams. Young unproven QB and coach against proven champion and veteran QB/coach.

Now it’s the Rams who some say should’nt be in the SB who have a chance at redemption vs the Pats. Young unproven QB against proven and champion veteran QB.

Once those dudes run out of that tunnel repping the NFC it’s game on. I don’t see any effects of last weeks missed call.

Excellent points, my man. I may rue the day. The line about Gronk is so comically true. He looks like a guy in his 50s with bad knees. But the Pats have always been a smoke and mirrors team, using unathletic white guys who can't run or jump to beat much more athletic teams. BTW, though I like your analogy, the difference between basketball and football is that 1) It's not a seven game series 2) coaching plays a much bigger factors,, and 3) the QB is advantage is often decisive.
