As the losing streak continues, so do the unit amounts!! That's two 4 unit plays down the drain in the last week! I fully expect to see some 5-6 unit plays(2500-3000) this upcoming Sunday so when and if they hit, we can hear, "he's still up 5k on the year."

And while the unit amounts rise, the stupidity continues all around him. I don't know who made me laugh harder with their nonsense, Mick or Melo....it would be comical if these guys didnt truly believe the crap they spewed.

GL Phixer. I've been a douche lately and I'm done being an a$$. That WWF comment rubbed me the wrong way and sonething like that IRKS me. I've always been a gambler and I was taking action as early as 8th grade so I've always been around the industry in my own small way. From ages 13-21 or so, I was sharper than the average Joe(for a kid), but one week in November of 2001, I took a beating. Following week, I chased like a savage and lost A LOT of money to where my dad had to bail me out at a time he was struggling. Took me almost two years to pay him back, and in those 2 years, I never made so much as a 1 dollar wager on anything. But I studied and studied. Every spare moment I kept logs on all major sports "as if" I was gambling. Tweaked everything I know. Ditched the sports I did not have an edge on(college sports, pro hoops, and hockey), and focused on the two leagues I was good at( MLB and NFL).

Sometime in 2004, I came out of retirement and haven't looked back. I work HARD at what I do and with exceptions of a few years(2006 MLB, 2007 NFL and 2012 NFL) I've hit my own personal goals financially every season, with only one losing year(last year NFL murdered me). So when I see a guy with a HUGE following who seems pretty sharp and then I see the WWF comment, it was a slap in the face of the dozens of hours of homework I do for 8 of 12 months a year spanning two sports. I firmly do not agree that my success was being on the right side of a fix for the last 9 years and all my winnings are complete luck and all the work I do is just a joke.

Agree to disagree on the philosophy of things. Lets both agree to cash in regardless of how we get there.  My apologies for breaking your balls the last few weeks, and BOL this weekend. I like your texans play, but I can't lay 9 knowing it was 6 a couple days ago.

glyde your exactly the type of pig-headed moron i was referring to,someone offers a different viewpoint to the absurd one you been brainwashed with all your worthless life and wat do you do??attack them with claims of "nonsense"and "crap" when you havnt the faintest idea wat youre talking about....i bet you watch a lot of t.v.,i bet you litsten to a lot of modern "music",i bet you vote for your presidents with the strings almost visibly attatched to their arms and legs,i bet you love to gamble,i bet you love alcohol,i bet you love drugs of some description,i bet youre consuming a whole lotta fat and sugar,i bet you see absolutely nothing wrong with the brutal war machine of your homeland destroying millions of other lives in the name of "justice".hahaha.i bet you are obssessed with sports and cheer 4 ya favourite team like a trained monkey.i bet you own and are addicted to a lot of electronic gadgets with a lot of buttons, bells and whistles.i bet you have no original thought or ideas of your own and simply parrot the words of the media ya heard on the news the nite before amongst ya circle of friends..........................................i bet you see absolutely nothing wrong with these things^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ watsoever.

hows that for a few bets buddy??,seeing as ya dont like any of the ones phixer is making.
carry on  cos for folks like you the alarm will never, ever go off.
oh,p.s. cant help but notice you had no rebuttal watsoever to points made,if they are false or untrue just point out how, pretty simple...easier to just toss out an insult and get back to chugging a beer with ya monkey-mates right??

Wowow I've seen some internet idiots/trolls in my day, but I still can't believe that someone would log on just to bash a guy who is offering his valuable opinion to help whomever wants to use it for their benefit. I really don't get what kicks people like MasterMG get out of logging on to rally against someone just trying to HELP people by SUGGESTING things (hey hey notice i said help & suggesting as opposed to "forcing people to place bets"? hey yeah).

Phixer, I read a few pages on here and while I have never used one of your picks, I can tell that you study the game in depth and I want to thank you for a good read and opinions. I have my own theories, but I always keep an open mind when I'm able to gain the perspective of a fellow critical thinker. Sometimes the ball just doesn't bounce your way when you're dealing with something you can't control, but keep up the great work. I will be looking forward to hearing more of your opinions to possibly factor into the rest of the season. Good luck all. - P

now i aint got the faintest idea if,when and how fixing takes place in major u.s. pro sports.....but i think id be a damned fool to rule it out.

Other sports save EPL are fixed internationally because they don't get paid as much as American athletes.  Easier temptation.  In the US to get the players to ensure you effect a game in say football baseball etc you would need to bribe make so much there's no way it's worth it to the fixers.  If Im the bad guy, I say to myself this NFL guy wants $250k?  Screw that Ill just go over to this footballer from Crystal Palace who'll do it for 100£ and a pint.

Also, in the case of cycling, athletics (Im assuming you mean track here) and tennis, you only have to get one guy to tank so I think most US bettors see that is possible for international players to be on the take.  If US players are going to,cheat its with PEDs!  We don't deny it exists but those individual sports aren't the ones that usually interest US bettors.

I think the NBA is probably your strongest case where this most likely could/has/can happen.  If you get one starter thats 20% of the team that can affect play.

MJ issues were shady but remember that was 20 years ago.  Also way more thug life in the NBA then. I think the recent trend as players become better developed and trained from the get go is to be risk averse by life managers.  I think the fix odds go down.

I think the malaise of an 82 game regular season is more to blame for mid season slumps and not trying in a particular game than being bought.  Again, not saying the NBA is rules out but that the times are few and far between and declining.

As for the refs, Instant replay has to really cut into what a ref can get away with as well.  If he continually makes shitty calls, he's going to get recognized.  US refs make a decent living and have a good pension, why risk it?  They are always under the public eye here too.  International guys get $20 a match and it seems there are five trillion of them in FIFA.  How do you keep track?.  There's incentive and its easier to just buy whoevers refing that particular match internationally.

Yeah we are self important and maybe that leads to a cleaner game.  Lots of pride will keep a man from unscrupulous behavior.  In the US, a guy on the take in sports is lowest of the low.  Very shameful.  Even if he doesn't get caught, he knows this.  In Croatia for example, where everyone from the President to the local garbage man is on the take, it's a way of life. Socially acceptable.

Finally, unlike US players, I agree international players have the incentive.  i mean just look at their lives.  I mean if you played for Sri Lanka cricket or God forbid Leeds football, wouldn't you just be trying to collect as much as possible and get the hell out of there?

    My two cents.

great stuff uclalumnus, enjoyed your views....i hear ya but just remember the basic tenet of human greed, the more ya get the more ya want, plain and simple....just cos a guy is a millionnaire dont mean he satisfied, just increases the likelihood that he wants to be a billionnaire...and money and all the crap it buys can easily corrupt the mind and subvert any moral tendencies,if they even existed in the 1st place.the lifestyle these dudes become accustomed to can escalate and become more and more expensive as they feed more and more vices that are picked up with all the spare time they enjoy.
look at all the c.e.o's and corporate bigwigs with more money than they know wat to do with..and they just want more and more and more to satisfy they own ego.
so i dont doubt for a second that a player making $10 million a season would take another $100,000 in the back pocket to do something untowards if he thinks he highly unlikely to get caught..and remember you talkin about narcissistic, egomaniacs here.time and time again its been proven these guys think they are bullet-proof,above the law and have a ridiculous sense of entitlement so i doubt getting caught even crosses they mind.
you suggest who wud do sumthing stupid/immoral to jeapordise their affluent career??well didnt dat hernandez guy just murder sumeone??and certainly not the 1st time athletes been caught out with gun-play or other silliness.so i dont buy the line of-why risk it wen you already on easy street.these jocks,by definition, arent very bright on the whole and lack foresight more often than not.
also at the forefront of their thinking is the fact they only have a relatively small window of opportunity to earn such ridiculous sums before their career is over(and they go bankrupt like every other dumb-behind nba or nfl "stud")....so cashing in as much as possible in every way wud be a priority im sure.
as stated before i cant say for certain wat is or isnt going on but if a huge news story broke tommorrow exposing a whole bunch of u.s. pro athletes for conspiring to co-ordinate specific in-game events i would not have a surprised look on my face at all,not in the slightest......and it absolutely boggles the mind to believe that others would be stupid enuff to be shocked at such a turn of events.

these are the same idiots that wud have defended sub-human lying slime like armstrong for years against common sense and basic intuition..and wud defend the likes of usain bolt now.

lack of integrity and honesty is a theme that runs extremely powerfully through sports at the highest,cut-throat,elite level..i mean ya gotta be a selfish,obssessive,arrogant,single-minded type to even have a chance to get there.not too many "good guys" at the top, rest assured.just like in business you gotta step over the top of a whole pile of others to get there and acting in self-interest becomes a way of life.
    my 2 cents.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this subject. I am very impressed by your post.

I have another example of strange actions in American sport:

If Pete Rose is such a fighter, then why did he sign an agreement with major league baseball not to contest being banned from the sport? Why have both Bench and Morgan said that Rose owes the fans an apology?

I am thinking that Pete Rose bet against his own team while he was managing them. If so, then both Rose and baseball would do their utmost to sweep it under the carpet. What a black mark that would be, would those sealed documents be if ever they would come to light... and of course we will never know the whole truth.

This 50th anniversary of Kennedy's assassination is all about propping up the fraud of the lone assassin. Anyone who has studied that one knows that the Warren Commission report was full of holes... even a congressional committee stated this finding years later.

So fixing a little football game is as American as apple pie sad to say.

LMAO! You sound old and corny. How old r u? 60?

Another thing, you keep calling me out for stupidity; meanwhile in 5 posts and 6,000 words, you have yet to figure out where the SHIFT button is on your laptop to capitalize the beginnings of sentences. Lol, 6k words and not one capital letter. I'm not usually a grammar nazi as message boards were meant for firing off quick thoughts and insight, but c'mon guy, fresh sentences start with a capital letter.

I also love when people call me out about picks and stuff. I've been slamming this site with winners for 8+ years. But I guess I'm just lucky to always win. I cap old school and it just so happens that every year in every sport I win because my naive a$$ just so happened to be on the right side of all these fixed games...over and over and over.

So while you catch feelings and blame your losing wagers on the FIX, I'm gonna get off my iPhone 5S(I'm a sheep), and go hook up my fancy new PS4(again I'm just a sheep), and maybe go on back pages before the night is over to get a girl to my house to suck my d1ck(OMG who would pay for pu$$y?). Then I'll change my style of picking winners and just fade the public all day long(because all these fixes I'm assuming goes towards unpopular plays), and maybe I'll go 50% like a LOSER the rest of the year fading Joe Q. Then I will research how hundreds of people on a USA inside job conspired to kill 3k Americans(one of them a neighbor and very good friend of my family), and not ONE person out of the hundreds needed to pull off something like 911, ever came forward to blow it up the conspiracy. Then I'll fire off an email to Dr Baden the top forensics guy in the nation who recently exhumed JFK's body and autopsied him and said ONE SHOOTER, and I'll ask him how much the government paid him to keep his mouth shut about his "true" findings in the conspiracy.

I care NOTHING about authority, I care nothing for politicians.  I'm not sure where these blanket statements come from. Feel free to pop into my NFL thread and ask me whatever you want though. No need to clog up this thread anymore than it already is.

I made my peace with Pfixer. I apologized candidly to him. Really isn't any reason for me to be in here anymore. So bring your fight to my threads if you can. In case that's too much for you to figure out, click my name and my threads will pop up for u to stalk me.

Melo you make good points but I think the fixes are rare and few and far between in US sports not as commonplace as they seem made out to be in this thread.

Egomaniacs and greedy yes but also have seen the Pete Roses etc and know in this country if you get caught, you're cancer even after your playing days are done.

For the past 20 years I could have made Pete Rose dance for quarters in Vegas if I wanted to because he was reduced to a D list sideshow in the Caesars strip mall.  In his playing days he was revered as a God.  Just saying the court of US public opinion is pretty harsh here.

It could happen but it's not commonplace like in international sports IMHO.

    My two cents.
can't agree with your first paragraph. i will elaborate. first of all the athletes do not agree to participate in "fixing" for money. that is rare. it usually happens in two different ways. if the fixing party are the "wiseguys" - it is through blackmailing and threats and is usually done through the player's agent. if the "fixing" is through the league and league interests - business - it is done through the refs, coaches and franchise players. best example from recent time of an obvious (very rare) to the public eye was the sa game last season in miami. sa was shorthanded after pop sent all his star players back home and the league even "punished" him for that by a fine. sa was a covering machine in those times and it seemed like an obvious "no cover" situation when the line shut up from miami -5.5 to -12. more than three quarters of the bettors and money was of course on miami covering from -5.5 to -12. the whole spectrum. miami was dominating the whole game almost only to win by 5 points at the end. sa covered again and the public got screwed big.league players, coaches and refs as well and can direct them to do anything . ones among the players that have a task to collaborate are usually the franchise players who will miss here and there and couple free throws when needed. last timeouts are usually the coaches opportunity to influence the play and call the play which will be unfruitful if needed etc.
in soccer to fix a game - it's usually from asian triads who get guarantees from local mobsters to whom the players owe gambling money or been rescued from all kinds of legal mishaps and are being blackmailed. all you need is a defender and attacker to fix a game. defender will be late once or twice allowing a score and an attacker will miss obvious goal opportunities. under/over is a different story and few years ago bayern munich game in cl was ended at the the halftime due to "power failure" because the score was 2-2 while the fix was under 3.5 goals and the guaranteeing party from germany caused the failure for the asian triad. that story is widely known among the players in europe. man utd for years had the fixing duo that by a joke was almost offering their services in ebay (ha ha ) . r.f. on defense and w.r. on offense . both were owing big sums to the "wise guys" due to unsuccessful gambling. there are lots of stories like that - some true and some false - but the fact is that fifa uncovered 85 fixed games in 2011 only and those are games that were uncovered - hardly 10% of all by fifa's own estimates. and the players there do not get paid small sums at all. come on guys - i am no advocate of fixing and it actually disgusts me - but blind i am not

second text - refs in fifa get way more than 20$ per game. intl ones get 3000$ per game and all the expenses paid for an example

And this America kick and the government and coverups and murder.....WHO CARES??? President Reagan IMO the greatest president ever. I don't care about the Cold War craziness or Iran Contra or anything else we did overseas. You think I waste my time thinking about stuff I can't control?? I can know about stuff and maybe have enough of an opinion to vote with a straight face, but all your political conspiracies are boring. I can see you had Jesse Ventura sitting around and talking about THERMITE PAINT and that 911 conspiracy. If you don't think anyone but a bunch of crazy Arabs constructed 911, then you are out of your mind.

"the government and cover-ups and murder.....WHO CARES???"...this statement probably sums you up perfectly.a normal, sane, rational person wud be just a little perturbed to know these things were even possible, let alone rampant.the point is if everyone didnt think that they "had no control over this stuff"then things cud change at the drop of a hat, nothing can happen without a populations consent, obviously there are a lot less evil, sinister person than there are normal folk.only problem is normal folk are stupid as garbage, too pre-occupied with booze, porn and sports to even see wats happening under their eyes.how bout some balance???
"if you DONT think anyone but a bunch of crazy Arabs constructed 911,then you are out of your mind"....thank you glyde, finally you come round to my way of thinking!!!!

scary scary stuff...can't believe your putting in the effort on these boards melossinglet...like mark twain said, "it's easier to foll people than to convince them they have been fooled."

what we're seeing here is the program playing out exactly as it was designed...typical outlash of cognitive dissonance that ends with ridiculing the sane as insane. everything has been turned inside out and backwards...you can't be under the spell and realize your a victim of rampant witchcraft at the same time. praying for you glyde

the truth is once you can accept that someone has a different perspective without ridiculing it you have the opportunity to learn from everything (and perhaps in time break the spell)

To be fair to him and others...certain faculties need to be developed over time in order to handle the unraveling...all at once would result in chaos (inner and/or outer). <----Hence the subconscious defense mechanism (cognitive dissonance). It's there to protect the psycho-spiritual state of the individual. When you realize how far gone the whole thing is its hard not to panic if you haven't developed these faculties. In other words, it's probably best kept out of a sports betting message board.
