Phixed or not, I've noticed a much higher percentage of plays winning by lines not backed by majority of the public, Pro and College, during the weekday games.  Something I'll check into, but I'll bet 60%+ of games backed by 70% or more of public, sides and totals, go to play with less public backing.  I'll get back on that

Think logically about what you are suggesting.
Who exactly is involved in the conspiracy... The refs, the coaches.. The players...

    It is beyond comprehension...

Watch the ends of games, field goals in NFL, other things in NBA. Anyone who says they're NEVER fixed has some explaining to do.

That might well be the case.. And if your research proves this to be true then these findings are evidence that you have an angle to gaining an advantage on your gambling.

But, my theory would be - the majority of us react to what we have seen in the previous weeks play, if we have seen something good or bad about a team. But coaches will also react, negating what we have seen, thus a lot of the time making our analysis insignificant.

I wouldn't go so far as to say most games are 'fixed' however there are outliers where perhaps certain individuals are in tune with gambling lines, etc and do things on their own fruition.

With all due respect to phixer, it's impossible to fix NFL football now.  There's way too much money to LOSE if they're caught.

It's why you don't see millionaires robbing banks.

nfl, nba etc are businesses. they are employers of the refs, players, coaches etc. their business is creating entertainment worth selling to the tv networks and merchandising. their partnerships and collaboration includes vegas as well as it is entertainment business after all. dramatic results and different "strong" teams serve the purpose. what we call a fix - they call it good business move, that is why it is called professional sportsa. people go there to work. not playing for fun. ut begins from agents who recruit the players and kicks up to the commissioners. would not u do the same if you were owning those businesses? i would.
now, nobody's out here to convince you this or other way - all we want is to be on the right side - and usually there are only two sides.
naivity is a blessing in some areas of life. but if you're handicapping the games - it should include all the parameters, including vegas unterest

There are too many variables out of the 'Business owner's' control to be capable of such a large scale fix. I'm NOT saying that in certain scenarios, fixes don't happen. I'm saying that fixes happen in a minority of situations and only a few people who have control can know about them.

Lose lips sink ships, and the type of conspiracy you are advocating includes too many human beings to be controlled adequately so that the 'fixed' information doesn't get out and make the business lose credibility, and thus money.

Sports like the NHL, for instance, are not fixed.

I actually think the NHL is one of the easier sports to fix. Officials with their penalties leading to power plays and what not.

to u it seems as a fix because ur a gambler (me too of course)  but to the regular joe who sees miraculously missed fg or a last minute comeback by a lesser team - it seems romantic and assures him that "anything can happen in american sports". and it is absolutely legal, like wwe wwf. its a show. thats all. millionaire sportsmen could not give a damn about winning and losing. they get their turns. fixing has lots of different angles and faces.

I personally find your theory insulting for everybody involved in the game.. Honestly sit down and think about what you are saying.. Imagine you yourself are growing up as a kid and are pretty good at the sport. Then you are lucky enough to be dratfed by an NFL team... Ecstatic you get to the facility to meet the GM to tell you "right kid this is a business, if we tell you to drop a ball, you are gonna drop it, do you get it!"... "Right, good lad here is your $600k rookie contract sign it"

Do you honestly believe that a kid who has dedicated his life to the sport he loves, is gonna just that it is all just for entertainment... Come on!!

Of the thousands of players that have played the game. Do you not think one of them might have tried to sell their story and earn one hell of a lot more than a rookie contract for doing so... How about even better, why not play the game for 15 years take the money from the NFL... And then sell your story?!
Maybe your theory goes further that if anyone trys to talk, they disappear!!

While you may be making money from fading public money. Your reasoning is ludicrous and delusional (Your wife is like me, you are right... Not a bad judge!)

I was responding to Phixers comments, and he was insinuating the 'Millionaire players' didn't care about winning and losing.. Thus suggesting it was them who were bothered about miraculously missing last minute FG's etc... If you have a different theory that it is the refs etc who are involved in this conspiracy, this might have greater credence, but is also flawed!

I am in agreement regarding that sports is a business sold to the public for profit. I don't doubt the business model behind it.

What I doubt is that there are certain plays that happen in a game that couldnt be adequately 'fixed' to occur. For instance, refs could give an NHL team a power play, but the team still needs to put the puck in the back of the net. The only way to ENSURE a result, hence Fix, is that the defensive team lets the opponent score a goal.

This is the part of the FIX that is inconceivable because you can't force teams and players to score/not score.

As I write this, the Bengals scored on a tipped Hail Mary play in the endzone. There is NO WAY that td catch was fixed or scripted. That pass had less than a 5% chance of being caught for a TD

Games are absolutely 100% not fixed and if you believe they are, you're not very intelligent.

I say this as Cincy just tied the game on an impossible play. There's no way this game has been fixed and the NFL and refs get together and set up a scenario that calls for a "okay, we'll have 2 seconds left, how about a hail mary sends it into OT"

Isn't it a lot more likely that PROFESSIONAL cappers, with access to hundreds and thousands of sources for data and trends could just be smarter than you and know a likely landing point for the spread/totals. For every close game, there's one that isn't (Spurs won by 31 today on a spread of -3.0).

These are pros, not hobbyist gamblers like phixer. And I'm sure that'll cause all the phixer fanboys to go nuts, but I was here when he was 8-0. That was 3-4 weeks ago. He's now what... 10-6?

If you dont think some games are fixed then maybe YOU are the idiot. I've watched football games all my life, seeing how a team plays and casually betting when I think they are in a good spot. I believe referees have interest in the outcome of certain games and may even be payed out to influence how they turn out. Take, for example, the last USC ND game a few weeks ago - USC was driving down field and threatening to score time in and time out towards the end of the game but some how were held scoreless in the second half?? The calls the referees made were ludicrous and should have not been called. The refs literally gave the game to Notre Dame. I believe that yes most games are not fixed but you are naive to think some games are not influence by outside non team/coach related factors.
