In 2016 the Chiefs played a home game vs. the Titans when the air temperature in the stands was 1 degree F with a wind-chill of -9. 

Guess what the recorded temperature on the field was? 

Anyone?

50 degrees!

This thread is the most meaningless thread of the week from a handicapping perspective. Most everyone should know that the Chiefs installed pipes underneath their field several years ago. These pipes run scalding hot water through them and heat the field. Standing on the field feels like springtime. 

Let's move on from this subject of the cold.....it's meaningless for this game.

Cold weather has more effect on the defense. Having played before nobody likes tackling in cold temperatures.

You can say the same about Joe Montana.  The Walsh/Montana marriage accomplished the same thing as Belicheck/Brady did.

They found the perfect QB to take what was in their minds, and bring it to the reality of the football field.  

Walsh thought, why do I have to run it on first down when a short pass will accomplish the same thing.  The West Coast offense was unleashed when Walsh found his center piece.  If Joe was put into another system, more than likely he would have failed too.

Mr. Stones, I know you like to be the contrarian in most all of the threads you go into.  Nothing wrong with that, in fact, it's healthy.

On the otherhand, the experience factor for Pats ie. experience playing in high leverage games at these temps perhaps can be a positive but Andy Reid is probably equally versed

Totally agree about the thread. No disrespect here for the OP but it’s gonna be cold for BOTH teams. For the history of how good Brady has been in cold weather, you can attack that with Mahomes and his age and how his body more able to take the hits in the cold than say a 40+ year old qb. It’s THIS year and it’s with two different teams from previous years. The variables are different therefore putting an overemphasis on the weather with two teams who play outdoors in the elements. If it were a dome team in single digit weather maybe it would weigh more here but Mahomes and co will be just as ready as the Patriots for the WEATHER.

Cold is cold, and Mahomes isn't the only player out there.  


My take on bad weather is that if it's so bad that it will affect certain players more than others, then just don't bet it because you really have little-to-no idea how it will affect each individual player.

Did  Brady  play like a stiff and get outplayed by Sanchez and Plumber and knocked out of post season even though he was on the better team ?  

Are the Patriots 14-5 with  3 1st time starting QB's 

Did he lose twice to the Giants outplayed by Eli  . Brady couldn't complete 1  single pass 20 yards over line of scrimmage 

He's one of the biggest Stiffs in post season play ,   Last years SB he should have had 5 INT'S including a pick 6  in 4th quarter if you watched  the game 

505 yards means nothing he threw the ball 50 times  he got 80 yards and a TD on screen pass behind line scrimmage , His completion rate was in the 50's , indoor stadium not one offensive holding penalty ., it was flag football game , Foles was the better QB on the field and if he had 10 more chances he'd be 10 more times 

Those 26 of his 33 completions  behind the line scrimmage is a typical Tommy Bubble screen game and typical  Patriot offense game that's the Patriots are 14 -5 with basically high school QBs when he don't play 

Put any decent team  in the American East they will continually show up in Super Bowls you are only 2 games away from a Super Bowl by breathing air , the fact that Patriots have only won 5 is because the QB sucks

That's fine but don't ignore  the Patriots 14 -5  with  3 1st time starting QB's ,  two with zero NFL experience two not  even playing division 1 college football ,  all they did was step on the field and win immediately 

This fact is telling you the Patriots winning has nothing to do with any QB. 

You couldn't replace Montana with 3 guys with no experience and have the same win percentage as Montana 

So the media calling someone great is stupid n a team sport when he's replaced  it makes no difference

it's a  bad league overall and the Patriots have benefited by being in a division with 3 bottom feeders ,  by just living and breathing air 2  the Patriots are 2 games away from a Super Bowl each and every year .
The media stupidly makes a big deal of it with the whole Belichick Brady nonsense

I have not although the cold which isn't that bad won't matter Sunday because of wind less than 8mph all day

Patriots combo of Belichek/Brady is the best in history for post-season success... 
and (maybe) oddly enough, I give more of the credit to Belichek.
His ability to identify talent particularly in both offensive and def lines might be unparalelled...
and then deciding who u can keep and who you can let go when salary/free agency issues arise... again, he might be the best ever...
add in quality game plans etc... I think has been crucial to their success over the yrs.

AND

Playing in the crappy division w/Jets, Bills and Dolphins which has been the primary reason they end up USUALLY PLAYING ALL THEIR POST-SEASON GAMES AT HOME!

So, to me, the main reason they've been soo unbeatable is that they're always in the "friendly confines".... 
and combine Belichek and Brady to it... there ya go!

Is Brady a great qb?  Yes

Would Brady be winning all these Super Bowls and playoff games if he played for Buffalo/Jets/Dolphins...?  NO


As for me... I'm rooting for da Chiefs and Andy Reid this wk

I think a guy named Steve Young took over for Joe Montana and ended up winning a Super Bowl and 2 MVPs. 

The Patriots will play their 9th straight AFC conference championship game, a record that will be untouchable forever. Give credit where credit is due, and shut the F up. I'm sorry Tom Brady didn't have the time to sign your jersey that you wanted to sell on E-Bay. Get over it.

not a huge factor, but Brady's experience certainly helps. i think Mahomes will adjust in-game and get used to the cold. definitely won't be a factor in the 2nd half when game is on the line. adrenaline will kick in and won't feel a damn thing.
