Dude, get Kerry Collins' sack out of your mouth.  You've got to be kidding.  He is not the reason they are winning.  Perhaps you may have noticed Chris Johnson and LenDale White.  They are the reason, not Choke Collins.

Btw...in no particular order. Brady is ommited because he is not playing this season

    Warner

    Brees

    Cutler

    Peyton Manning

    McNabb

This is just my opinion on what I've seen this season

, if you're going to gag on Ben's sack about the SB (history now) please keep in mind the team's running game and defense.

I believe he sucked in the SB.  He needs a supporting cast.  No way is he top 5.  BTW--what did he do vs. McNabb head to head this yr?

Looked like crappola is what he did.

Also, Matt Ryan deserves serious consideration.

    1. Peyton Manning - No doubt in my mind, this guy is still the best in the league. Makes all the throws; when I say "all the throws" (big cliche), I mean he not only can throw the short, intermediate, and long throws with tremendous accuracy, he also consistently throws the ball where only his receiver can catch the ball. He reads defenses without peer, is cool under pressure, and is a fierce competitor. I can't imagine what more you could ask of the most important position on your football team; as a Vikings fan, I only wish we would EVER get someone of even half his caliber.
    2. Ben Rothlisberger - Physical specimen, tremendous ability to escape pressure and extend the play. Proven winner, makes plays in the clutch. Excellent leader, a guy that teammates will kill themselves for; this is obvious by the interaction on the field and the sidelines - this is a key element to being a leader and cannot be quantified through any statistic. My only knock: He makes some questionable decisions with the football a bit too often.
    3. Jay Cutler - I remeber seeing tape of this guy throwing the ball in college when Mel Kiper was breaking down the draft and, even then, I remember thinking "WOW, this guy's got a cannon!" Since then, I have only seen this guy get better and become a leader of a team with issues on the offensive line, inconsistency at the running back position, and an overall lack of depth at the receiver position (I know they have Marshall - what about the rest?). Bottom line: Cutler makes throws that nobody, repeat, nobody in this league can make at the most crucial times of the game and, as he has matured has become more judicious with this incredible talent which has only made him more dangerous. Once again, same knock as Rothlisberger: Needs to clean up the decision making at times.
4.Kurt Warner - "RIGHT NOW" - That was the question and that is how I will answer it. Makes beautiful throws to all parts of the field, reads defenses well, a winner who is a class act on the field and in the locker room. You can't ask for much more out of this position than the Cards have gotten from Warner this season. Big knocks: Lack of mobility, questionable decision making under pressure, injury prone.
    5. Eli Manning - Leader and winner. Underrated arm strength and can, without a doubt, make all the throws with great accuracy and touch. Manages the game well and has really hit his stride over the last year and a half; he doesnt make those questionable decisions resulting in interceptions that hurt his football team. He may not put up the huge numbers of some other guys but his team is not designed to win that way. Coughlin is an excellent coach who understands the game almost without peer and knows that teams which are predicated on the pass, almost without exception, fail. Eli will only get better - maybe could have rated him higher.

    Left out:
Romo - terrible decisions with alarming regularity and at the worst times in the game - a turnover machine
Brees - big numbers but a TON of interceptions and numerous picks at critical times in the game which have effectively lost the game for his team
Matt Ryan - will be there very soon - incredible upside!

To all the guys who included Brady and Palmer: Awesome quarterbacks, especially Brady. But.... these are two guys who have virtually not played this year; one had reconstructive knee surgery and the other is likely to need Tommy John surgery. This, to me, leaves nothing but question marks regarding their respective futures, not to mention the nature of the question: Top 5 quarterbacks THIS year.

I'll swap Rivers for McNabb right now. Other than that, my list stands.

Big Ben did not take the Steelers to the Superbowl it was his running game and great defense that took the team to the Superbowl. Don't get me wrong he is tops in the league, but don't make it sound like he alone took the Steelers to the Superbowl.

And to all the McNabb haters look at his numbers and throughout the years and then pull up Brady's numbers and compare. McNabb's winning percentage as a starter are among the very top of the league's and remember he did that for years in the very beginning throwing to uh Freddie Mitchell and James Thrash. So think about that when you are talking about top QB'S in this league.

Brady, Manning, Brees, Big Ben, AARON RODGERS. Romo is a prima donna and carson never plays. A healthy carson is tough to argue against but its been too long. It may be too early to put aaron top 5 but i like what i see in the kid

Seriously?  The drop is after Romo at 3 behind Brady and Manning.  Wins, yards, touchdowns, scrambling ability, ability to make those plays on the run, etc......Romo has to be 3, McNabb and Big Ben to follow

ROMO backers I want you to name 5 reasons why he is a top five QB in the NFL right now w/o ever winning a playoff game in his career. I would be interested why he is in the TOP 5? I am a bit confused why he is in that list b/c he looses more games for the Cowboys when the chips are down!

haha i cannot believe people are really putting garrard and bulger in their top 5..even hasselbeck for that matter..  the thread states "now" so here are the best "now"

    1. drew brees (at beginning of season was throwing to no names)

    2. peyton manning (automatic top 5)

    3. kurt warner (thought he was done but he proved everyone wrong)

    4. matt ryan (this kid is going to be the best in a few years)

    5. big ben (plain and simple..he knows how to win)

now of course brady would be in it but he is hurt and the thread says now..
