The NFL requires that non-vax players sit a minimum of 10 days.  Vax players can play as soon as tested negative.

Not surprised the pitchfork crowd is coming out, but sometimes surprised at the inability to grasp a very simple fact.

I really think the rule should be like this,

If you are vaxxed, you are not required to be tested unless you are sick (for whatever reason). If you are not vaxxed, you should follow the COVID protocol.

The main reason for getting vaxxed is to protect yourself from getting very sick - just like taking a flu shot. You might still get sick bad and that is when you check in with your doctor, etc ... What is the point of getting tested if you are already getting vaxxed?

But since there are those who won't get vaxed, the sole reason the vaxed players get tested and are not able to play are to protect the non-vaxed.  That is the only reason.  They can spread the virus to the non-vaxed and they can end up dead.  If they spread it to vaxed - as you correctly state - there is very little downside.

So as a society - we are protecting those that refuse to get vaxed - while they are the sole reason the virus still exists.  Crazy.

Im here to talk football and gambling and there is a fact that is important:  If you play in the NFL and are unvaccinated you have different rules that make it longer to come back from.

That is the point. The players or people who don't want the vaccine because they believe not getting vaxxed is better. That is their choice. They might be right. What we want is the new normal. Everyone live their life as normal as possible. The people who does not get vaxxed might be OK, or they might get COVID and come out OK. At the end, we get herd immunity.

I just do not see the point of getting vaxxed and still get restricted?!!!! Why?

Some people need to stick to sports and not science. That's all I have to say.

The problem is resources at a larger level.  If we just let the virus run its course - and the non-vaxed just passed it around until half of them were dead or hospitalized - we are not equipped to handle it.

If they didnt run to the hospital when they got it - and were made to stay at home - then I have zero problems with it.
