Quarterback of the DecadePEYTON MANNING, Indianapolis Colts (1998-present): Manning cemented his status as the best quarterback of his era when Indianapolis beat Chicago in last year's Super Bowl. True, New England Patriots star Tom Brady
has two more Super Bowl wins on his résumé
. But he certainly doesn't have Manning's numbers. Manning already has
thrown for 41,626 yards and 306 touchdowns in his 10-year career. At
the pace he's on, he's likely to hold every major career passing record
by the time he's done playing.
Honorable Mention
• Tom Brady, New England Patriots (2000-present)
• Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers (1991-present)
• Donovan McNabb, Philadelphia Eagles (1999-present)

Manning's excellent, no doubt. Anybody that thinks Brady is way better then him, should have their head examined. There both very good, and bring a lot of things to the table.

Passing records are nice, they keep you company when you don't have multiple SB trophies.

Brady for sure
Christ, Manning has won a ring, and gives his team a shot every year for one. So he hasn't won as many as Brady, that shouldn't take away from what he's accomplished! Sometimes things work out that way. According to this theory, Emmit Smith was a much better runner then Barry Sanders, because he won 3 rings as opposed to none for Barry, which is certainly highly debatable.

Great analogy. I love how all of the "if" Brady had the receivers, "if" Manning had the O line disputes. I think we are on the same page, "if" the QB's were on the opposite side, Payton would probably have 3 rings and Tom 1.
When you don't let homeritis cloud your judgement, you can come up with rational opinions. As a Charger fan, I would obviously love to have either. If I had to choose, I would take Payton.
