Look fellas, I’m not saying to bet Dallas, I’m saying show me a playoff caliber/superbowl caliber cowboys roster. Show me just one roster in Romo’s career that was of elite caliber. If you can do that, I will admit defeat.
Jerseyboy89... Look at the Giants o-line… LT David Diehl, LG Rich Seubert, C Shaun O’Hara, RG Chris Snee, and RT Kareem Mackenzie. Damn that is a beast pro bowl offensive line.
Going into the 2011 season, the Giants offensive line was statistically ranked the best offensive line in the NFL. They were the most complete unit in the NFL last season. They ranked 2nd in Sacks Allowed. They finished the season as the 7th best offensive line in the NFL, the rushing attack was bad, but the Giants only allowed 28 sacks last season.
The Giants played 4 more games and still the Cowboys gave up more sacks. Cowboys allowed 50 sacks last season. Why do you think Romo is ranked the number 1 QB in the NFL against the blitz. Romo gets a lot of practice with the shitty o-lines he has had over the years.
The pass rush of Mathias Kiwanuka, Jason Pierre-Paul, Justin Tuck, Osi Umenyiora, and Chris Canty can make up for the secondary. The secondary is what drops them to 15, not the pass rush. Don’t try to make the Giants defense sound average. Eli took the o-line and the d-line out for dinner after each game.
Romo has played 6 seasons as the Cowboys QB with 13 fourth quarter comebacks, 14 game winning drives and is ranked the number 1 QB in the fourth quarter statistically. Eli’s played 8 seasons as the Giants QB and has 21 fourth quarter comebacks, 25 game-winning drives.
Eli has played 2 more seasons and has had a Superbowl caliber team surrounding him. I respect Eli’s numbers, but if Romo’s defense didn’t give up games in the 4th and the o-line didn’t give up sacks in the 4th, maybe Romo’s numbers would look similar in this category.
Jimmydafreak... I hate the Eagles, but I respect them. It’s hard to get through to people when they have been brainwashed with TV programming. People have been told every time his name comes up that he is a choker. It’s a conspiracy that I can’t seem to get my head around. You tell a lie once and people keep repeating it, eventually people take it as fact.
I don’t think there is anyway for this rumor to die. It’s sad that he will be marked with this label for his entire career, no matter what he accomplishes. I can break down, almost every game people say Romo chokes on, and prove it false, but I would be on here forever breaking every detail down.
Sativasdaddy... brady has a pro-bowl o-line that helps him out or a defense that can make plays to help him out. Romo has never had either on his side. The Redskins game it was 3rd and 21 with the game on the line and Romo threw it to Dez for 30 yards to win the game.
Against the 49ers, Romo stepped in after breaking his rips and made the play to win the game against a championship caliber 49ers defense. I could name more, but you get the point. It’s not Romo you should worry about betting on... it’s the team surrounding him that makes me never bet on them.
SlumdogPicks I appreciate what you said. I like to talk football all day long, so this is fun for me, but people sometimes take it to far. It’s a football forum people, I don’t want to fight with people on here, I get enough fighting in my home with my wife. I don’t know why we can’t be respectful, disagree, and shake hands after it all. Just like Stephen A and Skip at the beginning and end of each debate.
