I mean they play in arguably the weakest conference in the NFL...
Imagine Playing The Browns, The Bengals, The Ravens and The Chargers 2 times a year....Some of the weakest offenses in the league....
So this makes you think...are the Steelers Defensive numbers that legit...My answer is No......We will see what they can do with a top 5 Offense that has 3 of the best receivers in the league....I think they will be exposed.....

Chargers got a good offense. Have to agree with the Browns(However they were supposed to be good this year) Bengals, a weak Ravens offense. Also played a banged up Cowboys team(We seen what they did against Philly)
Pittsburgh will win this game as long as Ben doesn't do stupid shit. Which Ben is known to do from time to time.

Here is your answer to your question.
Superbowl XXXVII 2003
Raiders #1 Offense in the NFL
Bucs #1 Defense in th NFL
I don't need to remind you what happened in that game.
S-P-E-E-D Kills and D-E-F-E-N-S-E becomes the BEST OFFENSE!

Your saying the Steelers Defense is Overrated ?????
if this is the Case...
Please Watch more Football
Oh not saying they are overratted....but am saying they do have inflated defensive numbers.....Colts put up 24 points on them....Titans put up 31 points...They are good offenses, nothing of which The Cards will throw at them....
The Steeler defense is good...but not the top 10 of all time....

Their defense are glorified by the media but they are very good and so are the Cards defense. I am basing this information base on the L3 games played for both teams.

Had it ever occurred to anyone that maybe the reason the Bengals, Browns and Ravens had poor offensive numbers is due in part to the fact that they play the Steelers twice? And in the case of the Bengals and Browns, they also play the Ravens twice. That's exactly 25% of your schedule against the top two defenses in the NFL. I don't care who you are, you're gonna struggle to put up points with that kinda slate.
And don't give me the garbage about the NFC West being better than the AFC North either. In case you hadn't noticed, the AFC North had two playoff qualifiers. Not only did they qualify, but they were the two AFC finalists. The Cards are clearly coming from the softest division in football and coming from the lesser of the two conferences.
What the Cards have done over the last month is commendable, but give me a break with the Steelers being overrated. Hands down toughest schedule on the planet this year.
I don't know what else to say. Believe what you want about what you've seen from Arizona...but they're stepping into a bad, bad place this week. And don't kid yourselves, this will be a Steelers home game.
BOL everyone.

Plain and simple the breakdown goes like this...

copag you are absolutely right. average defenses can make an average offense look very good. but on the contrary a great defense can make a great offense look horrible. good luck though

1. The DIVISION is the AFC North with Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Baltimore, and Cincy. It's not a conference. The conference is the AFC which has 16 teams in it. The Steelers are representing the AFC in the Super Bowl. A little FYI there...
2. You can look at every team in the NFL and pick 6-8 games in which they played lousy offenses, or lousy defenses, or whatever you want to say about the teams.
3. The Steelers played the Ravens twice, the Titans, the Eagles, the Giants, the Redskins, the Colts, the Patriots, the Cowboys, and the Bengals twice. That's 11 games right there against teams that all ranked in the top 12 defensively in the NFL. And when you play good defenses, it makes it harder for your offense to stay on the field. Hence, your defense spends more time on the field. Are you with me here?
4. This Steelers defense allowed .4 yds/game less than the '76 Steelers defense, whom many believe was the best year of the Steel Curtain. They've also allowed about 10 less yds/game than the notorious 2000 Ravens D.
5. If you're going to make an argument, then make one. Present some good points. You just keep saying that "they played six games against teams with no offense." That's not a strong argument. As a matter of fact it's pretty fucking weak.

And why did you mention the Chargers' offense in the company of Cle, Cin, and Balty?
Do you watch football? Or do you just feel the need to socialize on the web through forums?
After week 5, San Diego didn't score much. I had Rivers & the kicker on my fantasy team, awesome the first couple weeks then a big drop-off. You don't get to 4-8 by scoring a lot.

Presently living in Arizona and originally from Baltimore, I can think of four teams I'm glad the Cardinals are not facing in this superbowl.
New England, Indy, Tennessee & Baltimore. Those four would concern me much more. Pitt is anemic on offense, their defense is overrated, they lost games to good teams while beating up on the weak. For those of you that think I threw Baltimore in because that's my original home team, thats not why. The reason is that Baltimore had an unexpected bye week in week 2 due to the hurricane in Houston. They played 18 weeks in a row to close the season, the last 3 playoff games on the road and still game the well rested Steelers a game. I'm going heavy on Arizona +7 and ML. GL stopping Warner with three 1,000 receivers and Edge. Plus an Arizona win fits the changing times, Pitt represents the same old same old. The country needs an underdog and Arizona fits the bill much like NE did against the Rams after 911.

Killer B-I'm sorry that your fantasy team didn't light it up during that time frame but the Chargers were 2nd in the league in scoring and 11th in yardage. They also have a QB that had a phenominal year and arguably better than anyone in the league. Comparing them to Cle, Cincy, and Balty just doessn't make sense.
